The cab wall below the rear windows is especially bad. I would to that before anything else.

That's what I seem to remember reading around a while back, but wanted to double check.

Priority should be back wall and doors. That’s where you’ll get the most bang for the buck and noticeable difference.

The floor is pretty rigid already with all the bracing and seats bolted to it so putting sound deafening mat on it will yield very little results. Raammat, Dynomat, etc reduce noise by stiffening panels and thus eliminating a lot of resonance. There’s not much of that going on with the floor. The best material for the floor is mass loaded vinyl.

I did my doors and rear wall awhile ago at this point. I used Raammat and then a layer of their Ensolite on top. Very impressive results.

As much as i'd love to go wild with MLV, I just don't need to spend money on that and already have matting I need to use up.
Hopefully doing the rear wall will make a difference. I was a little unimpressed with the results when I did the doors with the 50mil stuff.

 

Might as well weld that lower hinge in place and cut off the front half so you don't have to tub again for 37s

I cut my body mount exactly like that.


@Camtron when I jacked the truck up I had it resting on the bump and made sure it cleared the tub area like that... when you bounce off the bumps they compress further so I have a little bit of rubbing on the trail still. Just a heads up if you haven't finished yet

 

Yep, mine looks almost exactly like Monte’s does.

When I did mine, I used stock bumps that were cut in half and a brand new tire. That way I knew I would have some margin to play with. FWIW, I’ve bottomed our the fronts multiple times and have yet to rub anywhere.

Finally got a Softopper and installed it today.
I absolutely love the way it looks and the function will be perfect for transporting my dirt bike.

 

Finished my Hayden trans cooler install.
Sorry for the bad picture, I forgot to take some before I got the grill back on.

 

Put some sound deadening on the back wall.
Seems to quiet things down a bit in the cab.

Still have a ton leftover matting, but don't really wanna pull the carpet out to do the floor.

 

Random electrical nonsense...still good. The temp probe I purchased to extend the one that came with it had different wire colors, screwed up the first time and the temp sensor only read 32 F (seemed warmer in Portland...). Totally botched the depth of the display so no buttons on there for me but the buttons are back there, it'll be set to temp 99.9% of the time anyway. Unrelated but if anyone needs a stock clock, buttons, springs, and plungers let me know...

 

That's a really cool idea. Haven't seen anyone else really do anything with the clock other than replace it with a dial gauge or a switch panel.

100% not an original idea on my part, I stumbled on a thread when I first bought the truck, and decided lockdown was as good a time as any to start fiddling...I hate to admit how excited I am to know the outside temp, for some reason. Mostly to know how cold it is during ice season so I can brag. Voltmeter can't hurt when winching or just keeping an eye on the alternator though!

 

Where did you put the temperature sensor? I’m having a difficult time finding a location that doesn’t pick up engine heat when stopped, if I’m moving it’s fine.
