I still have a little load development to do with the AR, but once I find the best combo, @Rob MacRuger and I have a trip planned down to Manatee where they have 100, 200, 300, 600, and 1000yrd ranges. We were going to play around on the 300 yrd range with the ARs.

If I get my 6.5 BR rechambered to 6.5 Creedmoor, I am definitely going to try that 1000 yrd range. The plan right now is to rechamber it and have the barrel threaded for a HellFire muzzle brake with a nice soft butt pad, then slowly buy the parts as I can afford them and eventually build it into a precision chassis rifle. Should be badass.

Unfortunately, The WAC, an outdoor range, is closed per the "Safe at Home" mandate. Shooter's World is still open and they have a 100 yrd indoor rifle range that would be idea for load development, but they won't let you shoot hand loads there...unless you have an in with the owner from stories I heard. Go figure on that. Seems like an outdoor range would be less risky. :notsure: Manatee's website doesn't say they are closed, but I'm not driving all the way down there just to shoot on a 100 yrd range to load test.

Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?

Just put your reloads in an empty box of factory ammo. Load mags at the firing line and nobody would be the wiser.

The long range stuff has always intrested me. If I make it through the corona with my job I'm going to use my Trump bucks to build something in 6.5 creedmoor.

That's what I do with my pistol rounds, haha. I can't with the .223 because I only have one 20 round box of factory ammo. It'd also be a little hard to keep track 10 different loads if I couldn't label anything. Especially since I like to shoot 5 round groups of each load before coming back to shoot the second 5 round group of each load. I feel like it mixes things up and keeps one load from standing out because I might have been having a particularly good string, or the wind wasn't blowing, or whatever.

When you build your Creedmoor, if you're going for the budget build, start with a Remington 700 short action, but I highly recommend a heavy profile stainless Shilen barrel whatever action you go with. Of course, you have to find a gunsmith that does machinist level work to install the barrel on the action since Shilen doesn't do that anymore. My uncle said there's one here in Tampa somewhere. I'm still trying to get the contact info from him, but there's a guy in TX that I was going to give my business to when it comes time to rechamber and tread my barrel for the muzzle brake: Bryant Custom Precision Rifle Smithing . He's pretty reasonable cost-wise too.

I just threw out 25 empty XM193 boxes a couple days ago...

I'm leaning toward an auto loader but who knows, all depends on how we weather this storm.

The Canik has great reviews and the early models were designed from the Walther. $680 for the sig is a good price they have gone up in the last year when I was looking at them.

The've never checked my ammo either and I was there last week. The problem is, if I have a 100 rnd blue plastic ammo box sitting beside me while I'm shooting and making notes on the load development target of which load the group belongs to...well, it's kinda obvious. Still I'm going to ask if they'll just look the other way since there's really no where else to go at the current time.

I know they shoot M1As at a 1000 yrds and there's probably an AR-10 platform for 6.5 Creedmoor that would do the job, but I really feel that if you want the accuracy to really shine, you gotta go with a bolt gun. Besides, these days bolt guns can be box mag fed and just as customizable as the AR platforms. This is what I plan to do with mine...

Hernando Sportsman club is open. 100yards and you get to drive down a dirt road to get there.

    That's a cool looking gun...pew pew

It's really just the chassis and the mag. The rest of it you can fit out with any AR parts you like. I'd be using the Magpul PRS Gen3 on mine. Probably a different pistol grip too

The only problem with the Hernando Sportsmans Club is the same one I have with Manatee...it's a long ass drive for me...about the same as driving to Citrus. Needs do what needs must, I suppose. I might just get antsy enough to do it. It is closer than Manatee at least.

Oh and in my case, with that Hellfire muzzle brake, it would definitely be BOOM! BOOM! as dust sifts down from the ceiling and anyone next to me wouldn't be happy campers, lol.
