How many defect repairs have you had under warranty (not aftermarket related)

Wow, that sucks! All for a 2010. I beat the crap out of my truck almost every weekend and I haven't had a problem in 4 years with it.

 

rear and center u joints replaced due to a bad vibration at certian speeds. didnt fix the problem so they replaced the front at a different time, that fixed it. so all in all 1 problem 3 attempts and 2 visits to fix

 

Had my windshield resealed bc of squealing wind noise. That's it for me.

 

Dang man, sounds like you got a bad apple. I'd trade in for something else while it still has decent resale value. No sense being unhappy with it for xxx years.

 

Rack and Pinon took a shit at 18,000 miles... 2 1/2 inch lift some how voids the warranty on it.... Still leaking! F*ck u toyota. A/C compressor took a dump too at 15,000 miles, and my left doors don't close right! For real their mounted a little off. I will buy another Taco though

 

^thats BS ... the lift would not really effect the steering...

I've yet to have any repairs done on my 09, Outside of regular maintenance. I haven't even had to fix anything because of my lift.

 

If he has bigger tires it would effect it though.

Bent tailgate- replaced via TSB
rear leaf pack- replaced via TSB
air intake tube rattle- updated via TSB
squeaky clutch pedal- fixed via TSB
seat belt buckle squeaky- Toyota failed at fixing, found the issue and lubed myself
AC fan motor chirp- replaced under warranty
original horn died- replaced myself
rear diff ring gear grendaded- 3rd member replaced via warranty

maybe more thats all off the top of my head.

 

Were you wheeling when you grenaded your diff? That's great if Toyota replaced it under warranty if so.

 

kinda. it was winter and I was on a paved access road to a communication tower on a mountain that had 2 feet of snow on it. I was towing my roommates on their snowboards downhill on the road into a jump they made and when I went to back up the hill one time it went BOOM. Limped it off the mountain via the 4wd and then had a tow truck take it to the dealer where they pulled the 3rd and 1/3 of the ring gear was ripped off. looked like a bubble in the casting process caused a fracture leading to the failure so the regional rep said to replace the whole 3rd member for me(at 42k miles).

 

That's good to know that they replaced for you.

(3) Another small item or two that I cannot remember at the moment.

FWIW .... Going in for transmission ECU "Reflash" ... but NO cutting on my gas pedal (only OEM replacement).

if that was the case... throw on some smaller tires (i.e stock) and get it fixed under warranty
