Great and unique OEM grill. It was also the only year to be body paint matched on the Xrunners. GLWS

 

Neat. I can’t recall seeing an ‘11 XRunner before. I dig the colormatched cross bar.

 

How hard is it to separate the chrome surround from the black part? I love the “11” grille and being color matched would look nice

 

Flip your grill over, you’ll see a buncha tabs that hold the 2 sections together. You have to separate them there. Sometimes they’ll just pop apart othe times you need to melt the tabs to separate.

Reassemble is the opposite of disassembly except you have to melt all the tabs back in place.

@steveo27 when you took the shell off did the tabs break? What did you use to melt the tabs to bend them straight. And was it easy to bend them back into place? Thanks.

I’m trying to do the same to my 2nd gen but I’m scared to break all the tabs and I don’t want to paint the new grill I just got. Thanks guys!

Yes. ‘11 is the last year for this grill and is only one year.
