With the amount of re-routs being done and the overall simplicity of the mod, it begs the question, why isn't there a DIY kit for this yet?

What I envision is a CNC bent pipe with flared ends and pipe clamps. Alternately, a 2pc pipe that allows for a flanges fitting and/or some adjust-ability of the left to right width. Knowing what the variability in the factory exhaust mounting and dimensions would first need to be determined.

If there is enough interest in this I would be willing to explore having the kits manufactured (I am in product dev and manufacturing professionally).

    I am interested.
I have the URD Ypipe installed, and I am pretty disappointed in it.
It is uncomfortably close to the transmission crossmember frame, and hits it often.
No way to really clear it, without rebending the entire pipe.

    A DIY would be appealing.

Pics or diagrams would make it easier to visualize. Sure I know basically where the reroute goes but knowing or seeing more would make this sale an easier decision.

Make it out of the correct stainless steel. Yes, it will be more expensive, but will not rust away.

I will buy if made out of the correct stainless steel.

Borla exhaust is supposedly releasing a kit for this as well that they had shown on their Instagram.
I reached out to them in January and they said it would be released in "2-8 months".

From their posts it looked like it would re-use the stock secondary cats and it would involve cutting the exhaust and then clamping it back together

Hi. Do you have the original or ver_2? (I so want to pull the trigger on it but seems like high risk of failure)

If it was priced reasonably, yes indeed.
At this point almost any local exhaust shop could do it properly and welded for $100-150 in about an hour or two.
A DIY kit would almost certainly be more expensive because it would have to include quality clamps, possibly nuts/bolts, and defintely shipping.
Priced right, I'd much rather do my own work than have a shop do it, so yes, still interested!

    I have the v2.
If you have a 4x4, then the clearance issue from the frame is no issue.
I have a 2wd, so the subframe is shallow and interferes with the pipes.
On a 4x4, you would have a good 1" of clearance, since it seems like the URD YPipe was build for 4x4 only.

Paid $75 to have mine done at a local muffler shop. DIY would have certainly cost more in time and effort than having a muffler shop do it in 45mins.

True. Any good muffler shop could cut out and replace this pipe for nothing. Why is this a thing?

Muffler shops invariably use aluminized mild steel, enjoy your rust. I’d go for a DIY kit if it was 416 stainless or better. I would avoid URD like the plague, having had issues with their Spec-U exhaust.
