So potential good news in the works.
Got my foot in the door for a GS-11 Govie job.
They accepted the application, my logbook, and certs and the hiring manager will be calling me shortly.

    Yea man, me too.
Only 37% of applicants make the cut so I'm remaining cautiously optimistic.

Benefits as a GS are good, so I hope you get it. Definitely get into the TSP as much as you can.

Like everywhere else we don't have nearly enough PPE to do our job. But, we're expected to go into peoples houses that have fevers etc and work. We just have to make sure they meet certain criteria first. Unlike before the rona when we could decide for ourselves based on whatever, if we needed extra PPE precautions. So, yeah, it could be better but we're working around it. It causes a huge slow down to get treatment to people. We send in 1 guy to question, (dispatch also gets info) and then we PPE accordingly if needed. But we should be wearing PPE all the time, period. Unacceptable in my book, but you know .. whatcha gonna do?

They better get some masks etc out soon, or there is gonna be a break out in the FD and a manpower shortage like some other cities have seen.

Kinda figured that was the case, they are still expecting us to run around and deal with things as well. Trying to do as much from home and limit activities, but some things can't be done from the desk.
