After a lot of discussion with many other members in another thread, I'm very drawn to the Sonoma 1671MB and 1900MB. The 1671 is well within weight ranges but does not come in mountain edition. Also, the 1900MB is a bit roomier with a slide. Room is nice since I'll be living in it, and I need something thoroughly insulated and heated both inside and underneath in my high rockies winter climate so the mountain edition is a big deal.

1900MB has dry weight 5105lbs with hitch weight 565lbs. GVWR is the big concern at 8365lbs. Does anyone have any experience towing this rig or something of similar size. What are the real world chances of towing something like this safely?

Could you drain tanks before towing, avoid filling the trailer with the 3k lbs worth of gear it allows, etc. To make it realistic or is this kindof asking for a wreck?

Any advice, experience, etc. Greatly appreciated.

I tow something much lighter, 3500# loaded, tongue weight 400# approx. and truck bed with another couple of hundred lbs... used a scale to help make sure I didn't overload...
I have 2015 v6 4wd, SR5 with secondary 28k btu tranny cooler. Use an Andersen WDH, weight distribution hitch.
While I still have some towing capacity left, I'm happy with the trailer and the way it tows. The biggest weakness I've found is going down long hills. Most I can do in 3rd, or 2nd. However, there are some I have to do in 1st. And a very few (and fortunately very short) that I had to assist with brakes.

I would be very hesitant to tow something that heavy, especially in the mountains.

If an insulated trailer is critical then check out, Escape RV. They are made in BC Canada and the exchange rate is very good now. Also, Outdoors RV made in Oregon. They have some smaller trailers that are a bit lighter and used my many oil field workers in cold climates.
