    Just got my truck back!
    Pretty significant gains!
This is the stage 1 URD mk3 s/c. My truck already had a TRD catback. Time to go gauge shopping!

    My shit is all stock.
Select thickness buckets? Yeah... Nobody is gonna stock those.

They’re almost never needed and there’s like 35 part numbers. Each potentially needed in quantities of 24. Do that math and think about what it’d cost for a dealer to stock them.

Where are you located? Most dealers within a reasonable striking distance of a PDC should be able to have your parts next day.

Yes, we have some in my pantry. Hence the confusion as to why it was brought up in this thread.

Sorry to go off tangent....wanna to brainstorm with this group...I popped a P0606 code last night. Definitely felt my truck go sluggish after the CEL. Research tells me its 02 sensor related.

Anyone experience if this is an issue with my pre-cat O2 sensor or post-cat 02 sensor?

California peeps.. I got some good news, and some bad news and just news all around.

    20200415_174039.jpg

The story with this is that the TRD intake is legal for 50 states for the 2005-2013 Tacoma. No big surprise there... I have been doing some HEAVY research on this and it turns out you can piece together your own TRD intake for much cheaper than just buying a complete assembly outright... The intake is good for us because you get CARB approval and an underhood label to go with it.

With that being said.. the tube is where the magic is because the OE one is calibrated to a 3" tube. THAT, however, means that the ID of the tube is 2.75" and not actually 3" in OE and basically all aftermarket flavors available for our trucks. It makes sense why we top out our MAFs with the 2.5 pulleys and lower.

This is not true for the 4Runner/FJ Cruiser 2010 and up. The TRD intake tube has a 3.25" ID MAF opening and measures a 3.5" tube OD overall. The opening is exactly .5" larger than OE which is exactly what we need to prevent the top out, which will also prevent spark knock and will chelp calibrate our AFR to the 11.5 AFR we need during WOT runs.

If you purchase the TRD intake setup which is Tacoma specific and purchase the tube as well as the coupler hardware which is built for the T4R/ FJ's it is a confirmed 100% bolt on setup to our trucks as it stands. We can officially run 2.5 and 2.3 pulleys and not run into MAF top out issues by running the FJ/ T4R tube. That is the good news.

The bad and the ugly news... For 2012+ vehicles we have air pumps and running this intake will require relocation if the pump, even if you have it present as a dummy. The FJ/ T4R tube also presents a situation where it will ABSOLUTELY require a MAF rewire and a brand new MAF. So you will need a pigtail and a used or new MAF sensor. Some sort of air pump relocation bracket will be needed but is not supplied with this version intake.

Currently, one viable option exists for an air pump relocation which moves it towards the front of the vehicle by the power steering pump, but there is no extension harness currently offered by any manufacturer, as a male/ female connector combination is not sold by Toyota. You will have to lengthen the plug either at the air pump or at the main harness side yourself if you want it to run all the way at the front without issues.

    Part numbers below:

    - 197-6160 Denso MAF T4R/FJ 2010+ OR if you want OE the Toyota PN is: 22204-0V010

    - PTR03-35090AF Tacoma specific lower lid

    - PTR03-35090AA Tacoma/T4R/ FJ Upper lid

    - PTR03-35090AC Air accelerator

    - PTR03-89100AA T4R/ FJ specific tube

    - PTR03-89100AB T4R/ FJ specific hardware kit

    - Air filter of your choice TRD PN: PTR43-00083 (K&N oiled style), AEM Dryflow filter 28-20438 (my personal preference), AFe Pro Dry S PN: 31-10208 or K&N PN: 33-2438 (oiled) I DO NOT recommend standard filters as your airflow will suffer and your restriction will be at the filter without a doubt.

    - 47062 Dorman HELP! 5/8" 90 degree heater hose elbow OR Gates PN: 28624

    - 3/4" grommet to cover filter minder hole

    - Final item on the list. An M8 x 1.25 x 30mm shouldered bolt and a washer to go with it from your local hardware store. If piecing the kit together like I did you WILL NOT be supplied that 3rd longer bolt to secure the 3rd hole at the lower lid which is highlighted in the instructions.

    - The MAF wiring pigtail can be found at your local junkyard or online. If searching new from dealer it is 90980-12292. Thanks @BillDaCat8 for that part number. I DO NOT know if the connector comes prewired if purchasing through dealer. My better intuition would tell me it does not.

    - For those with models where the ABS pump and lines are blocking you from running your air pump at the rear like mine does, you can run a relocation bracket made by Holley/ Flowmaster. The bracket PN is: AF5025

Here is the raw bracket, which has been carefully thought out and designed to retain the OE air pump isolators.

    20200410_172740.jpg

    20200410_172750.jpg

    Here is the finished product:

    20200415_174117.jpg

    20200415_174056.jpg

For those wishing to do this mod, I took out the guess work of wondering what the new MAF wiring looks like. The pin out from 1-5 reads from right to left at the MAF and when facing you the plug itself reads 1-5 left to right.

    20200403_170218.jpg

There seems to be a lack of information readily available for this intake system. Why I do not know.. provided below are E-installation instructions. Please read them through carefully as there is some modification required at some of the current setup connections at the body.

    _________________________________________

@BillDaCat8 has done this successfully now as well and has his own spin on some of the ways he went about modding things to work if it works easier for you. There are now two working flavors of this mod for your instructional purposes. He also provides some info which I may have missed on my own. See his post below, and you decide which way suits your needs better:
