I would like to win this winch because I am just starting my build and don't have a winch (or lift...help me Marie!) yet.

Nothing like being stuck on a grade- can't go down, can't go up- to really make you want a winch. Or a buddy to pull you out. Or some common sense.

Plus, how annoying is that giant empty space on the front? Ruins all the insta photos.

Headstrong Off-Road is my shepherd, that I most definitely want.
They helpeth me take the tough road, always to greener pastures.
They leadeth me through still waters, but only at designated crossings.
They restore the off-road soul, by taking us places we thought we couldn’t go.

Even though the road I drive, may seem at times like death, I shall fear no evil; for Headstrong and the X20 are with me.
My truck, suspension, and X20; they comfort me on that drive.
Headstrong prepares a website of goodies, there for the purchase.
They help us anoint our trucks, so we may enjoy our great outdoors.

Surely goodness and happiness will follow me, for all this wishful thinking.
Cuz if I’m lucky, it will make me finally install, that empty front bumper sitting on my garage floor, for the X20 to dwell in...Forever.

Alright Marie here's my best offer; you send me the winch, and I'll upgrade my suspension to handle the extra weight and you can ship them out together.

To make the deal even sweeter I'll go ahead and cut @JLee a check for the new hybrid bumper I've been drooling over for a few weeks.

It's a win for everyone if you ask me.

Hi Marie, I’m a sad 3rd gen, my owner bought me a bad ass bumper and suspension, but he’s too cheap to buy me a winch so he left me with a big ol’ winch hole with no winch. It’s like wearing glasses without the lenses.

    Hi Marie,

You remember me. I bought those fantastic HS add-a-leafs a couple weeks ago. Let me tell you my story.

It's 1985 and I purchase the second brand-new vehicle in my life. It's a Ranger I ordered from the factory with limited-slip axles front and rear. I head out to the local 4x4 store and buy a warn mount for my new winch. I remember staying in Payson, AZ one really snowy weekend, and I took in enough donations using my winch to pull people out of ditches that it paid for my whole weekend. I never asked for money, but if they offered, I thanked them and took the tip graciously.

I sold the Ranger around 1990 or 1991, and I moved my winch to an 87 Wrangler. This is where I learned the difference between stuck vs. temporarily delayed. For those of you who aren't sure, "stuck" means you're spending 24 hours or more digging and winching out of the lakebed in Roosevelt lake.

In 1992, I buy the second truck I wish I would've kept. I used that winch to pull that F150 out of the mud once, but mostly used it to unstuck a ton of people from the mud.
    0404200754a.jpg

2003 rolls around, and I'm a little older and didn't think I'd get stuck, so I kept my little winch and put it in my new Dodge 2500. It does not belong on a 7900 pound truck, but I knew it'd only see light duty. I used it for dressing-out elk. Used my Warn 3000 quad winch to dress out the deer.

Times get tight, and I get an 87 xj downgrade in 2007. The winch goes with me of course. This was the one time I never used the winch. This crazy off-roader never needed it.

I soon realized I was too old for that toy. I made a bad decision in 2009 and let it go. I figured it was getting old, I was getting old, and I probably wouldn't miss it. The winch not the xj. But I have missed the winch.

In late 2018, the kids being older, we decided to get a 2014 Tacoma. My wife thinks we're going to give it to our 15-year-old next year. She doesn't know this yet, but he's not getting my truck.

I also just realized my 1979 Toyota 4x4 pickup, the first truck I bought new and should've kept, would be 41 years old now. We've gone full circle. I'm back in the regular cab truck without a winch. I found a picture of my old truck.
    0404200754.jpg

Here's the kind of trips I do now every month, so I'm sure I'll be using it0119191019.jpg
    0309201341_HDR.jpg

Oh, and please don't let the fact that I'll be celebrating my 2nd 30th birthday this month have anything to do with your decision to make an old man happy.

I could probably find an old picture album of photos to provide proof of ownership of the warn winch from 1992. All the information in this text is true, and to the best of my memory at this time. Thanks
    for your consideration! :)

Its almost like a story of the sisterhood of traveling pants. Like brotherhood of the traveling winch! :) Truck ownership is surely in your blood!
