After looking at the Amazon Fire for the kids, decided to possibly go with the HD 8.

Don't think we need the fancy stuff of the HD 10, but definitely want more than the HD 7.

The Mrs doesn't want to buy 2... she only wants one for the oldest, which I said might be an issue when the youngest sees it. She'll probably want one as well, so I'm sure all hell will break lose eventually. And for some reason she wants to wait to order it... she wants to order it on Black Friday, or price watch to see if it'll go down. Personally I don't think the price will drop, and I think waiting all the way until then is a bad idea.

 

Looks good to me! I feel like a lot of hand held type education and entertainment stuff is getting sold fast and prices won't be dropping. Aren't nintendo switches selling out? The more schools that cancel for the year, the more parents will be looking for something to occupy the kids.

And I don't understand her logic of only wanting to buy one, especially since if you buy 2 together, you basically get the second for $65 because one is $130.

I'm going to have to remember to celebrate my birthday at some point, assuming things slow down & my friends & family get out from house arrest eventually. Health care & shipping are not slowing down at all & coworkers are dropping like flies. Fortunately some of the early sick will be cycling back into co-workers present pool.

Another weekend trying to food shop for myself & for friends homebound & hiding. This weekend shall add waiting in line to enter the grocery store. Honestly I'd rather take my chances in a crowded store than standing in line, outside, down wind of many someones.

For those of you "with underlying conditions" who've been housebound for a month:
I went grocery shopping today.

with the new 50% of max occupancy rule, rationing lines have been created. Line went from middle of the grocery store, along the store, along the nail salon, JoAnne Fabrics, something else & to John's Best old store front at the Brookfield Shop Rite today. I got there at 7:30 (they open at 7 to all, 6-7 for seniors). Spent 30 minutes waiting in the drizzle. They close early now so no shopping after work - have to go on the weekend. Have to go early while there is still stuff on the shelves (There were still 10 packs of T.P. & 3 cans of fake Lysol!) Of course only allowed to buy 2 of anything. So I bought 2 carts worth of twos. I've been resisting hoarding, but if grocery shopping is going to take a 1/2 day I'm going to buy as much as I can on any trip. I filled a cart which is rare for me, when they were bagging me out they needed 2 carts to hold it all. Shameful, but I just cannot afford the indulgence of time required to do this dance weekly. I'm working 9am to 11pm daily in onsite essential jobs. Got it home, & then drove 5 bags of the groceries + a multipack of TP to a friend down in Stamford who's house bound since beginning of March ("underlying conditions"). All in 'groceries' took me from 7am to noon to complete & I've not put away most of todays take.
I thought rationing was only in war time, but I do recall 1 other time in my life - 1970s fuel rationing. Not sure how standing downwind of a line of potentially sick people for 30 minutes is safer than rushing through an empty store at night, but here we are.
Oh - and leave your reusable bags at home. Single use plastic bags, & they'll bag you out. Reusable & you bag yourself out.
And the Taco is too small in the cab for the grocery run, the bed would've just spilled it all as I've no cargo mgt back there.
Strange times folks!

Figured out how I'll mount my relay boxes. Hopefully it's nice enough today that I can make a template for the bracket I need.
Does anybody have the dimensions for the single ARB compressor? Wondering if it will fit under the relay boxes after install.

 

Savage Stevens 200 in .308...I was thinking of going with some of caliber to be different like 6.5 Creedmoor or Grendel, but .308 is plentiful (Well, it WAS), and I got so used to the .308 in the Army, I went with it...Scope is a Nikon BDC reticle...Good out to 600 yds or so...Bipod is a dump store find believe it or not....
