So I had Bilstein 5100s installed at the 4th notch, which is supposed to be 1.55" of lift. The 2020 Tacos are supposed to only have a 1" rake from front to back. I thought the back would only be .55" lower now. It is in fact dead even at 1" lower. I am guessing it is because the back has an increased weight load from the front being raised.

So here is the question...., if I add a 1" block (no hater comments) on the rear, will I end up at even or at .45" higher? If I do want a very small rake like that, should I install a 1.5" block. I believe from reading tons of posts that installing a 1" block should not make any big difference in the ride. Is the 1.5" the same way?

1” low in the rear. 1” block = level 1.5” block = .5 in rake pretty simple. Imo no issue with a block. Some guys on here freak out at the mention of it. You could also do an aal, just know that it may stiffen up the back at bit. Choice is yours.

You will be much happier with a progressive AAL in the rear over a set of blocks.

I am going to chalk this up to what I put in my thread, "Opinions are like...". The place where the vast majority of people in my area get lifts said they have a higher likelihood of issues with AAL then blocks, and even if there are not issues, they have a higher likelihood of complaints about the feel of the ride on the AAL.

So you’re going to put a set of blocks on a brand new 2020 Tacoma? Right.....

Blocks are fine for daily driving. If you really get into wheeling then you can upgrade.

All I’m trying to say is you’ll be glad u chose the AAL over blocks. A progressive AAL will ride like a dream compared to blocks.

A 1” block will make zero difference to In the ride quality in the rear.

We’re talking a 1” block here. AAL may even ride worse than a 1” block.

You’re right. A 1” block isn’t much but I still think a progressive AAl is a better option. Just my opinion.

    "progressiveAAl is a better option."
I sure hope so. I see a big difference in the design. I hope the ones I just put in lead a happy and long life.
