    Hello,

I purchased a 2007 tacoma 4wd 2.7L 5 speed. I have read several topics about the 4wd system and how it works, spent hours on youtube looking at ADD and transfer case actuators. The truck has the 4wd light stuck on and LO on dashboard. The switch beeps like it is in 4LO when switch is placed in 2wd or 4HIGH. When placed in 4LO the beeping goes away. This seems like it should be the opposite. Any ideas where to start? Replaced the switch, same results. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

i had a 4runner that was showing 4lo on the dash but it was actually stuck in 4hi. try unbolting the black box on the transfer case about 1/2" and pull the actual box out that 1/2" out. then have someone inside the car switching from 4lo-4hi-2hi back and forth while you hit the trasfer case with a rubber mallet.
