This is wrong. I do not want oils in my liner. They only collect more dirt.

The liners still build up dirt and cause friction

I've never wore out a liner. I've flushed my liner with acitone on several occasions .

In my experience, steel pipe is considered a "random". It's usually ~21' +/- 6” so that you get at least the 20' that plastic pipe will come as exactly.
    Cast iron is 10'.

Our cold rolled stuff comes in randoms, 10-12’. Most of the time it’s closer to 12’.

Some action from today. I needed to extend to pieces, this is the way I did it. I'm sure there are better ways.

I'm looking to buy a new AC Tig welder. This is strictly for a hobby and NOT commercial use. Dual voltage is a big plus for me.

I've seen so many welders pop up in the last few years. The market seems flooded with so many manufacturers that I'm feeling a little lost choosing between them. It would be nice to save a little cash and not get a Miller or Lincoln but I'd consider spending the money if someone can make a good argument.

    What brands should I consider?

Do you plan on doing jobs using a TIG welder and your TIG welding skills?

If yes, you should stay away from the multi process machines. Non of those type machines do all types of welding perfectly. You will be disappointed in the performance.

If no, then I'd recommend the Harbor Freight Omni Pro. The price is good, their return policy is good and their hours are great.

I'm not a TIG welder, but if I needed to do it, the above is how id go about it.

If you are a pro TIG welder, then I would count my advice as worthless.

I have the red one, which has no lube on it, and I can see black buildup on it where it wipes the wire. That said, I really couldn't tell a difference in the way it welds, but at least I can see what it is wiping off before the wire goes though the liner.

The Vulcans at HF are the cheapest dual voltage you'll find. But for 200 more you can get the continued support/parts of a Hobart. Ive beeb dicking around with my 210 MVP just a couple days but I'm impressed with the juice it has to offer on 110. Buy once cry once. Already played that game with my suspension....

Welded the mower blades I was fucking around with together today.

    Define your Hobby use?

    No Aluminum thicker then 1/8"

Getting into some serious Aluminum 1/4"

Hobby welders can get into serious welding. It is for the most just not 40 hours plus a week.

I have been known to rebuild back hoe buckets in my hobby welder days

I'm right handed, but can MIG weld fine with the left hand as long as I'm in a comfortable position. (work bench welding)
