Looking to snag these in a week. 500 bucks for rims and tires. In description he states "in very good condition". Let's say they are in good condition no scratches or very minor, would that be worth paying $500 and taking a 6hr trip one way for them. These wheels dont come to market often where I live so I have nothing to gauge the cost off of to see if it's a good deal or not

500 is not a bad deal with tires. I paid 200 But no tires just the wheels.

If any of you are looking I have a set of 2019's with less than 1,000 miles on them. Located in Socal

Nothing wrong with offering less, but I wouldn't be upset paying that. I routinely see $600-$900 around here. The high end is typically new take-offs with just a couple thousand miles or less. Often see $500 for just the rims. I scored a set of near-mint rims for $250. I felt pretty good about that. Eventually sold them for $300. Bought another set in 2018. Painted them black a few weeks ago. Came out pretty good.

appreciate the feed back. I figured $500 rims and tires is fair. But i rather justify before I start the dance with this guy to see if he'll budge lower.

I would with those tires as long as there’s still decent tread left. I was specifically looking without tires and grabbed new take offs for 350 (they ended up getting scratched on the machined finish because of no protective sleeve and being in a smaller box)- all scratches came out with compound and polish.

…but 12 hrs is a long way so that may not be something I’d actually do. I’ve seen these for sale in mobile before so I think if you looked a bit more you’d find something closer. Or like me I had a friend of a friend that was willing to pick up and hold until it made its way to me (waited a month but didn’t have to drive 5-6 hrs one way)

Your bargaining chip is how much tread is left on those tires. Take a gauge if you have one.

It’s 6 hrs away, I’d ask for the seller to gauge with pictures

edit: just to be aware before the long trek

more than likely i'll make it a 2 day trip. The wife has family that lives 2 hrs from him so more than likely i'll crash at their house and leave back in the morning.

Prev seller never got back with me but maybe it was a sign or for the best. I found a set of 4 trail wheels/tires/caps/lugs/tpms for $500 that's only 3 hrs from me. I been messaging the seller back and forth so he's active lol. Wheel combo has less than 500 miles! He drove from the dealer and took them off that week. Tbh this seems like a good deal especially for my location. Only unknown area is the tpms, what would be the most cost efficient in this? Hate to get a good deal on the wheels only to offset my findings by going to the stealership for tpms. Not sure about aftermarket or any tpms, i'm just ignorant to what will work with 19' tacoma

If you have stock steel wheels then you’ll need new tpms (double check that, I’m basing that off what I read). I’m not sure if you can use his or not

I know you cant use the steel tpms, some people claim you can and just rotate them but for the sake of trying I'll just go with the most common result and get alloy ones. For as I know 4R tpms wont work for a tacoma.

See if he’ll knock off some for not including the tpms then? Or if not you can always sell them to offset any cost (I’d imagine there are some that have or want 2 sets of wheels- winter/summer)

I paid 350 for just wheels/caps so you compare your deal with the extras (well tires) doesn’t seem bad for 150. But I was able to swap my tpms… no idea what they run

I’ve bought two sets of these. New takeoffs for $400 and a used set powdercoated dark grey for $600 with tires.

I went to three Toyota dealers and three tire shops and all said they wouldn’t take the chance of trying to make the steel tpms work. I ended up buying a set of alloys sensors for $100. They get snatched up quick but people list tpms in the marketplace for $100-150.

Yea I wasnt planning on using the steel ones even though some people had success by rotating them. I'll probably stalk market place or ebay
