    W211 chassis
front ball joints can wear out (upper and lower)
lower control arm bushings can tear
probably needs frequent auto trans service
SBC pump fails, but MB extended warranty
suspension air bags can fail, so can the air compressor that inflates them
some of that era MB drivetrain parts are said to be reliable:
    -serviceable front wheel bearings
-engines such as the M112, M113, M272, etc.
-certain transmissions especially the 722.6 ZF 5AT

Has anyone mentioned a 4runner yet?
I heard they're basically a Tacoma but half price. Have also heard of other comparisons such as Lexus GX470, Land Cruisers, etc.

Truck looks pretty good definitely worth a closer look. Keep in mind the other costs involved. Insurance will be more expensive as well as parts and as much as I love my pickup the fuel economy is kinda shitty imo.

Offer 5K and see what they say...
Then you know whether to go look at it or not.
Some-one will get it for a work truck that's pretty sure

I would look at some 3rd and 4th gen 4runners if I were you. Same 4.0 engine and reliability, 4wd, and tend to go for a lot less than comparable Tacomas. In my opinion, having owned tacoma and 4runner, the runner is a better riding, quieter, smoother, more livable daily than the taco, and fewer frame rust issues in general. All it lacks is the truck bed.
