When I asked if it would do the trick, I was looking for not a crazy amount of lift, but still wanted to keep the rake with the shell on. It’s got Hellwig helper springs on it now, because the ass sagged so bad with the crappy oem springs. It’s time to replace all of the oem suspension, so figured why not give it a wee bit of a lift. I’ll also be moving out west soon, and plan to do some dirt bagging out of the back, so need something for the extra weight. And that tandem rig looks pretty sweet , but I don’t think it’ll make the switchbacks on the Morrison Jeep trail, which I’m hoping is in my future!

It looks like the owner of that truck has nitrocharger shocks. If I had to guess, OME 885's and HD dakars with OME nitrocharger shocks.

The 6112/5160 with HD dakars should net you similar results.

Here is a semi- recent photo of my truck. I have OME 884's with 5100s and OME HD dakars with 5160's. I think it's perfect for my applications.

I needed some help with the weight in the back do to the FlipPac I have some of the MD Dakars on right now with 3rd gen OR suspension I gained about 2” in the rear. I’ll be getting the OME nitros all around soon enough.

I’m glad you brought that up. I was wondering about that. I don’t want to get into having to mess with my driveline or anything like that.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I was looking for. What do you have your front 5100’s set at? I hear 0 is the best setting for us 4 bangers. I’m still undecided between the HD vs MD OME leaf springs. It’s my daily driver, I don’t do any crazy wheeling and the only constant weight is the shell. I just want a decently capable off road rig with quality parts in case I get the occasional hair across me arse. I’m not trying to spend beyond what I’ll actually use the truck for. Did you have to do anything with your driveshaft or UCA’s?

Zero. You will want to run zero if you're running any of the OME springs or the Bilstien/ Eibach springs. The springs provide the lift, not the shock.

I picked the HD dakars as I can always take a leaf out if I want less lift

I still run stock UCA's and have good alignment. The 884s gave me maybe 2 inches of lift. As for driveshaft haven't done anything, but my slip yoke likes to rattle when I'm coasting above 60 mph. I hear a spacer may solve this.

Well it's not exactly what your asking for but here is 2" Dobinson lift coils with 5100 all the way around and Deaver J66 pack.

Here's my 2013 with some AAL in the rear (I'm not sure what brand) and OME 885 springs up front with OME Nitrocharger shocks all around. My truck also has SPC upper control arms which would be highly recommended if you lift up front more than 2.5" to make alignment easier to do. Since you already have helper springs which might be tiring out your stock springs, new spring packs are probably the best plan with your extra weight.

Damn. That looks good! I like the stock look with just a bit of lift. Just checked out the Deavers. Expensive.... but I’d rather buy once, cry once. How do they compare to OME?

Appreciate all the info. I’ve been waiting for my factory stuff to start getting to the point I can justify replacing it with better stuff, and finally have the truck I want.

I haven't had an OME leaf pack but @joechef put medium duty Dakar's on his Acess Cab maybe he can comment. Lifting Outputs - Access Cab vs Double Cab Short Bed

As for the Deaver's, they are a comfortable ride and I'm glad I got them!

With no weight in the rear of my
2018 access cab I got between 2.5” and 3.0” of lift with the MD OME dakar leaf pack, although it may have settled a bit by now. Ill soon be adding an ARE camper shell which I think is almost +200lbs, and am thinking I may need to add a leaf to turn it into the HD version to retain the factory rake.
