Help a Noob: shock similar to Bilstein 5100 that gives 2" lift without being maxed out?

So I am a complete noob to lifting and the amount of different threads on all of this is mind boggling. I was going to put Bilstein 5100s on front and back (24186728 rear and 24263108 front). I have read not to max out the shock if you want a smooth ride. The second to last setting is only about 1.5" on the front. I would like a full 2" so I can run 285/70/16s.

Is there another comparably priced shock (maybe a little more) that gives 2.5"+ that you can set to 2"? I see there are some Bilstein 5100s that do 2.5", but they appear to be for 2nd gens.

Also, I know there are ton of different ways of doing this, but can I just get these shocks (about $100 each) and have just them installed by themselves to do the job?

What wheels do you plan on using? I would reconsider tire size. I would go with 265/75-16 especially if you are going to be using stock wheels. If you want things to settle out closer to 2" of lift consider new springs with the 5100. A reliable source that is highly recommended for more info is Marie @ www.headstrongoffroad.com

Look at the eibach thread (eibach pro kit). Seems popular for the 3rd gen.

Consider that when you go 2.5" and up in lift you may need to get UCA.

I went with the 5100 Bilsteins with OME 888 coils and ICON leafs at headstrong. I had them set on 0. I was able to get a 2.5in lift. I didn't purchase the UCA. I didn't expect to get the 2.5 lift. I did and actually got 3in lift all around after I put on 33s.(285/70/17). Now my truck sits even and thats with a Leer shell as well. I probably should get the UCA now but my truck rides just fine. I don't really offroad so..... Ill hold off on that UCA plus Marie at Headstrong said that if I decide later on to purchase that I can still have the same price for the SPC UCAs.

I followed this guideline. That is how I got my results[. I have a 2017 DCLB. I can move it down 1 notch and give me another .65 upfront. That means Ill have to get UCAs for sure and will have to add another 1in in the rear somehow. I would actually like to do that but it will cost me $500 for the UCA another $50-100 for the rear lift and more for readjusting the front coil and struts. Thats atleast another $600-$650. II thinknI want to put that on getting the OVtune. ATTACH=full]3872374[/ATTACH]
