I know there have been many threads on this subject but thought I would share what I carry in my truck 24 7. A winch, tire gauge, stem puller, shovel, axe, chain, tow strap, snatch block, matches, lighter, a few towels, water, quart of 5w30, gloves, a pair of old socks and underwear. If I know I'm going on an adventure I throw in my little portable air pump, food, more water and a warm jacket. On me I always have a Glock, pocket knife and pen.

Just went out to lonesome lake with @Dirk Diggler , made it about 8 miles in before turning around, he is factory and was dragging skids in the sno , but still tearing it up. 20200405_090309.jpg Between us we had multiple sets of traction boards, axes, shovels, chain, snatch straps, i had food and water, we told people where we were going and when to send help if they hadn't heard from us. Id never snow wheel by mysel . Hope he learns a lesson.

Soft is what I was thinking 1 hour and 6 minutes after the first post when he said "Thanks for all the suggestions. I've tried jacking but the snow is too soft even with support. Looks like I'll be stuck overnight. " Moral of the story kids is you should never give up in any situation. Stuck in the snow by yourself, active shooter, house on fire, break an oar whiter water rafting, there is always something you can do to make the situation better, more survivable. Generally doing nothing is the worst option. Enough survival tips for the day lol, enjoy the rest of your weekend TW!

I won't claim that I haven't pulled some serious dick moves in my lifetime, because I have. Worse than this in fact. Far worse.

Sometimes we need little events like these, that someday a couple of years from now, it will suddenly dawn on us to say "damn, I was an asshole." And I have hopes that OP will eventually realize the poor judgement leading up to this, and learn. Like I have, like I continue to do. :anonymous:

Most of us grow from that. Have faith in that, that the majority of people grow.

Poor judgement is what makes things interesting. Plenty of stories here too.

Hope op comes back with some stories.

I found out in my older age that poor judgement is only a small part of it. The real part is learning the basic diplomacy to own your mistake, show gratitude to those that help, and stand before those you wrong.

Oh absolutely. I was thinking more of bad judgment whilst wheeling

Bad judgment when dealing with people takes experience to correct. Internet anonymity doesn't really help that.

The only thing you're missing is a trusty notebook! If you're gonna carry a pen, might as well have some paper haha.
