I was thinking about getting the 40 cal one, I like the feeling of recoil. But ya, a 9mm would be sweet, easy to fold and conceal, plus I could pick one up all day for 3-400 bucks. Throw that glock xtendo on and blast away

 

I've owned guns for almost 30 years. I've never NEEDED an AR15. Haven't really ever even wanted one except when I was a teenager. Nothing against the platform or those that own them. I just don't really get the fanaticism.

 

Probably because
1: They CAN be cheap
2: Easy to modify/build
3:Reliable
4: HELLA TACTICOOL BRO
5:Hard to be a bad shot with one
Etc etc. I still sorta want one

 

I get all that too. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of it or pretend I know something no one else does. The main reason I've never really felt I need one is that my primary pursuit and interest in firearms revolves around hunting deer and elk, with an occasional bird thrown in. When I want to shoot a lot, I grab a .22 and call it good. All that said, I had looked into Noreen's .25-06 AR not too long ago, but had forgotten about it. If I ever wanted a higher capacity platform, then yeah. Someday when I own property and can shoot off the front porch and have a full reloading setup, I'll probably end up with one.

 

2Damtns - I get it, and frankly am a wood stock kind of guy. Give me a beautiful walnut or other stock for plinking and admiring and collecting.

I almost went political but learned my lesson - this time regarding AR's dislikes/hatred. Anyway I resisted AR's for years, then I went full circle after loving the platform, to the point of making a DI 10MM AR SBR. What a project gun.......anyway now I lost count, maybe 8 or 9

 

Love my sub2k, fits in a backpack and takes maybe 5 seconds to be up and firing. The version 2 has a rail so you can drop a dot on it easier.

 

First gun was a M16A1 during basic. So it's just a familiar platform. Plus, yeah, good ergos, easy to manage, tinkertoy levels of customization, etc.

 

Yeah I used to really dislike ARs when I was younger then I shot one and instantly changed my mind. Then helping my friend assemble his lower reciever really got me into building ARs. Now I'm on my 6th build lol. I was the same way with Glocks and now I'm looking at getting my 7th
