Coronavirus boredom finally motivated me to build this engine crossover. Pretty darn happy with the outcome.

Anyone know of some good edge trim that can contour around some tight curves? I was originally planning on welding the notch in my hood shut, but might just put some edge trim on it if I can find some good stuff. I tried some from Oreillys but it didn't have the pliability to work well.

Just buy some 1/4'' or 1/8'' vac line and put one cut in it to open one side of it. It'll grip the metal and look good. Plus super cheap and easy to do.

Spent about 2 hours in my left front fender well. Added a fender liner (been missing since I rebuilt this wreck) and added a seal to keep winter slush from splashing into the engine compartment.

If you know anybody in the roofing business, this stuff really comes in handy. My brother-in-law does warranty inspections for Firestone on the roofing products they sell. Gets me all the free rubber I need.

    Seal Parts.jpg

Lots of holes already in the frame and inner fender panel, and I had some of those push pin type clips that can easily be removed for oil filter access.

Meh, some say less restriction more power, others say the catalyst is larger than the pipe diameter so it doesnt cause restriction

    None have proof

I've been slowly piecing together a "test pipe", so I was just wondering about this, and also how much would it normally cost for a exhaust shop to weld it on?

I like how tons of people are on.

Looks like rockauto has separate part numbers for them. So much for that theory.

I was thinking if the v6 and the 4 cylinders had the same cats, there wouldn't be much gain in going to bigger cats.

but then again, from a production perspective, it would be simpler to put the same size cats on all of them - so why do they bother making smaller ones for the 4 cylinders?

The front cat was removed from my truck with an open pipe welded in it's place. It is definitely louder than before. Can't say whether that means it performs better because my butt dyno is out of calibration.
