I think a layer of sheet vinyl flooring might be a good option because of not having seams. If it gets too nasty, it can be replaced pretty easily if it isn't glued down.
    I feel ya, bro. :p

I only allowed that sign to go up because of a theater room in the basement. Even though I do wash all the clothes!

In progress. I wish I would have done the windows differently, but there was a limb growing through one of them and i had to build around it until I could borrow a chainsaw

Edit: Also there is a bunch of dirt in the yard because I had the yard leveled in a spot for an above ground pool and a retaining wall built.

had to do something about our master bathroom door. It opens inward into the toilet which is a real pain when me and the wife are trying to get ready. So we found this door awhile back and with all the time at home i am finally catching up on projects.

Door was planed by previous owner because it sticks i guess. This part of the house settles and rises a bit with the weather change so that was their great solution.

    Waaaaaaay too sensible.

Funny, I've been thinking these barn sliders are too trendy and will quickly go out of style. BUT. They are space savers, and now I see them as a great solution for trapezoidal jams.

oh man we have so much space now in the bathroom its nuts! Feels like we added on a ton of space. Also fits our country/modern theme throughout the house. Its also quiet to roll.

Sealed bearings? Or will you have to hit the zerks once a year?

sealed bearings. It may get louder with wear and time but its a lot quieter than my sticking old door.

How did you finish the opening in the wall once you pulled the old door and frame out? I've got an almost identical situation in our master bath that I've been getting reminded about more recently...

left existing frame on either side. Pulled door and hinges and catch. I cleaned and filled the routed area and sanded smooth then painted to match rest of the trim in white.

So you left the door trim as well? That's the part I can't decide on. I thought it might look odd to have a trimmed out opening behind the barn door. But pulling the trim would mean more work to finish out the opening.

Good luck. I tried to burn multiple stumps last year that were smaller than that. Took about 20 bags of charcoal and a lot of time. It was funny though, neighbors would walk by and ask what I was doing. I'd calmly reply "prepping the coals for the hot coal walk taking place in about an hour. Will you be here?"

yep, left the door trim. If i didnt then there would be a significant gap behind the barn door and the wall in which its closing off. Also im partially lazy and didnt mind the framed opening whatsoever.

dont mind the lack of paint at the floor trim. Wife got nervous being too close to the wood.

Also we have not touched either bathroom in this house. We did the rest of the house and will circle back to these old bathrooms.

The two I’m working on right now are burning pretty good, though it’s going to take several burns because every time they start drying out it rains again.

I’ve seen both ways. To me a simple flat wood trim looks the best and will wear better then just drywall. I think I’ve said it before, but if not- it looks good!!

Good luck.... BTDT and had the craters in the back yard to prove it. Took about 5 or 6 burns to get them gone (done it 3 times)
