    So, right now I have a procomp 6" drop bracket lift. It was installed by the previous owner, and well I'm looking to upgrade that to a long travel with around 4" of lift on it. Aside from the normal modifications that come with a long travel, should I be aware of anything that could be neccessary due to my current lift?

    AFE Pro Dry S air filter, Magnaflow muffler, FabTech DirtLogic UCA, FabTech 2.5 remote resi (front) and 2.25 remote resi (rear)
    Since a drop bracket lift is usually bolt on, I wouldn't expect anything to be different based on what you have installed. All of it has to come off...

    That's what I'm hoping and/or expecting. Just read somewhere on here that there was a drop bracket that required cutting. Just wanted to know what to expect and how much downtime.

    I would rather use a 4 in lift spindle versus cutting a bracket

    Replacing a drop bracket lift requires cutting and welding on a new crossmember. They are NOT bolt on like stated above.

    Spindle lifts are for 2wd only. Drop bracket is 4x4 only. Can’t choose between the 2 if you’re 2wd. You only get suspension lift or spindles.

    The ProComp drop bracket lift can be installed on a 2wd truck without cutting the cross member. If the person or shop that did the install knew this then it might not have been cut and can be easily reversed. @ThePanda , post a picture of your forward crossmember and we can tell you if you don’t know what to look for yourself.

    Colorado we'll assume 4x4.

    You have a cross member on your frame cut, take a look underneath at your front drive shaft where it travels.

    I'd honestly just leave the drop bracket, they ride fine as long as there's a good coilover on the front.

    So you have a giant spacer on your stock coils, this is a poor way to do the 6" lift.

    There's full replacement coil overs that properly take the space of the shock and the truck will drive much better.

    Something like this will kick serious ass, and a better investment than a huge transfer to a mid travel.

    I'm really trying for offroad performance, obviously changing the spacers out for better performing coils and shocks will improve it no matter what, but I'm concerned that the drop bracket style of lift will potentially cause more unnecessary problems in the future... if you had it either way which would you go for? A long travel or the drop bracket?

    6" is not perfect for offroading, but the idea with lifts is a few things, but the bigger the tire the more clearance, more clearance and bigger tires makes everything easier. 6" have a few advantages, like better CV angles, and less bump steering as the tie rods are straight.

    The second issue beyond the frame cut, is axle wrap in the rear. Usually 6" lifts are 4" in the rear, and they achieve this with a spacer and an add a leaf. So many people install traction bars on the rear axle. You likely have red and white pro comp shocks in the rear which are ok.

    A quality coil-over, maybe a sway bar removal, and you'll have a better offroader than most. Especially with 35's.

    I would do traction bars later, and maybe some armor/rock rails.

    Just so happens the front sway bar is already removed. The link extensions broke so I just took the whole thing off. Other than that, it sounds like you'd stick with the drop bracket?

    Just get the proper coilovers for it and stick with it. If they have already cut the crossmember just use what you have and swap out specific components to get the desired results

    Any idea who makes good 6" leafs? I don't particularly want the blocks on and causing problems.
