    Hey guys
New to this forum. First time signing up on any forum.

had a 2019 tacoma long bed 2wd for a year and recently changed to 2017 tacoma sr5 4x4.

i have gotten stuck and slipped several times in the mountains and just couldnt wait to get an 4x4 any longer.

I couldnt afford trd series but I love my truck! Cant wait to try her in 4x4.

I have researched and watched a lot of stuff to improve my truck offroad camping.

things im looking into currently: 1. new tires (trying to keep the same rims). Got quoted ko2 for $1700 for 5 tires w/ installation.
    2. Sturdy mount for ipad and iphone (saw good one from cali raised led)
    3. Radio system (cb? Ham? Still researching)
    4. Traction board and bed frame

Cant wait to learn a lot from this forum.

    thank you and stay safe!

CB is commonly used, relatively inexpensive, no license required. However, I don’t depend on it beyond line of sight to talk to the herd. Suggest something else if you need communication for emergencies where cell reception is not available.

    Thank you all for greetings!

@rnish - thanks for your advice. The main purpose for the radio system would be communicating with others in the group. Im looking for something that I can communicate with my friends on freeway, offroad, basically throughout the whole trip.

And of course, in emergency as well.

    thanks in advance

Welcome to TW. The KO2 tires are a great tire. As far as communication goes most people (that I run with) have ham radios simply because of the range capability over CB, you can get a handheld Bofang Ham off Amazon for under $50 that will do just fine. If you're going to mount a iPad I recommend getting some kind of GPS app such as Gaia.

Thank you for all the greetings and comments.

@NormanPerez thank you for the great source. I will definitely check them out. I got quoted from America’s Tire and I knew that wasnt the best deal out there. Thanks again

@Loco_Barbon thanks for sharing. I thought Ham requires license. I will definitely check into bofang. Thanks!!
