What is the current legality of this type of trigger?

My interpretation makes it a grey area and for me and my guns grey means “no go”- rather be safe than sorry. But there’s a lot of people running them on ARs and such. The way the law is written is one round per trigger pull = semi auto. There is no mention of what happens when the trigger is released and that’s why it’s a grey area for me. Your interpretation may vary.

Agreed. There’s people building 10/22s that are over $2k so to each their own. At most, mine is at $500 and it’s plenty of fun. I’ve been debating building a second one in a takedown config.

Boat paddle owner from the 90s. Think I paid $179 brand new. Mostly stock except Timney trigger (phenomenal by the way). 9x scope, A few internal tweaks to make it more accurate for squirrel distances. Padded barrel at both ends with leather from a golf glove, works great. My best accuracy improvement came by adding a flash hider. Not so much for the control of gases but more to do with more weight at the end I bet. Groups double when its taken off.
Shot clip of the Timney trigger movement.

The only aftermarket thing I've done is tech sights, little work on the stock trigger and it breaks at a crisp ~2.5 lbs now. I think including spare mags and such i'm like 200ish in. Of course, I want a free-float stock...which will double my investment in the thing

If you include the suppressor ive got well over $1000 but it was done over time so it doesn't hurt my feelings as much

Thanks to @uurx for letting me know about this thread. I posted in the "what have you bought in the last 48 hours".................This is a little long so sorry for that. Maybe the people still stuck or working from home will enjoy a back story. If just interested in the pics scroll down.

Like everything I do, I go a little overboard on things. I have had guns for years, but believe it or not I have never owned a Ruger 10/22. I do have an old bolt action 22 from my Grandfather and not even shot it yet...............I know, crazy. It is a Winchester model 67a, this was produced from 1934-1960. I will be 50 in October, so it has been many years of owning guns, mostly hand guns.

    20200625_130710[11090].jpg

    So, I get the idea I want a lever action and 22 will be the most affordable to enjoy and shoot a lot, so I picked up a Henry golden boy, have not shot that yet either[IMG]. After that I kept looking at 22's for the affordability (remember this statement) and ammo being cheaper than most. Like every good American I had to get a Ruger 10/22 right, so I ordered one for only $210 and also a Ruger Wrangler 22, 6 shot pistol. I got them from the FFL last week. Being new to the Ruger game I had no idea the one I ordered did not have front or rear sights (got it from Buds). I ordered up a red dot from E. Arthur Brown, they had some good prices and very nice when I talked to them. Again, brand new to this whole Ruger thing so no clue..............this is my order from them;

-Hawke 1X25mm 4 MOA Red Dot Sight

    -Ruger BX-15 Magazine - 15 Round Ruger 10/22 Magazine

-Tactical Solutions 10/22 Extended Magazine Release Matte Black

    IMG_3225 (2).jpg
    IMG_3226 (2).jpg
    IMG_3222 (2).jpg

I receive this stuff, put the Red dot on and think it looks pretty cool, still have not shot it……….

Thru my research, I read of several items I should change out to make it easier to operate and more enjoyable. Some of these are the bolt release and a longer charging handle. I gotta have this stuff, so this time I find JWH customs and order some more parts (see where this is going).

-JWH Custom Ruger 10/22 Auto Bolt Release Bolt Lock Part Upgrade - Black

-JWH Custom Round Oversized Black Extended Charging Handle

So here is the part you have been patiently waiting for…………. somehow as I am checking out endless Ruger information and videos on the 10/22, I find KIDD Innovative design. I looked at Volquartsen, etc. and thought KIDD has some nice stuff……………. I spent the weekend looking at his site and ordering “some more stuff”

    -Kidd 2 stage trigger unit
    -Kidd bolt matte black
    -Kidd bolt buffer
-Kidd bolt handle charger with guide rod and springs
-Kidd V block, and take-down screw
-Kidd Bull barrel 16.5, bead blasted with muzzle thread and cap

Of course, I also had to pick up a new stock and a scope……….

    -Magpul Hunter X stock, Black
    -Magpul bi-pod
    -Vortex crossfire II 9x40

Now my little affordable 10/22 will have no Ruger parts left on it except the receiver………………….still waiting on the scope to arrive:thumbsup:

any chance you would trade this stock for an oem toyota front axle?
the boots are dry rotted and should be rebooted before they rip open.
I am on long island but only minutes away from the bridgeport/portjeff ferry if that helps

this is cool, is there a main reason for going this route though over putting a brace and a can on a 10/22 charger??

Not a fan of the brace, and I like stuff that's CooL.

Do they make a Charger with a standard tapered barrel?

i thought most chargers come with a tapered barrel, though I have seen aftermarket BB and I think ruger offered a take down with a BB

    either way, very nice 10/22
