Everything I have or will do to my truck is all planned out. The only thing I have no clue about is suspension. I understand weight and what you plan on doing with it are the main factors so I will make a list of what I currently have on the truck and one for future plans. Any suggestions on which route to take will be greatly appreciated.

    17 DCSB OR

    CURRENT MODS
    - 3" front spacer
    -1" rear spacer
    - 33" Tires
    - RCI'S Full Skid Package with front diff drop
    - All Pros kick out rock sliders

    FUTURE MODS
    - Relentless Front Predator Bumper
    - Relentless Rear High Clearance Bumper with tire swing out
    -35" tires
    - Front Locker
    - 2nd Transfer Case

In the end I want to be able to do most trails including the Rubicon. I know there are a lot of ways to go about this, but if I am able to eliminate any options that is kinda the goal.

    Thanks!

You’re going to spend a lot of money to make it Rubicon ready and a lot of money fixing it after the Rubicon. Better prepare to turn that 3k budget into a 10k budget.

I've done a bunch of off roading such as Gorman, Saline Valley, Death Valley, Cleghorn, Prairie City and Ocotillo Wells. I've only had the truck for about 6 months, but I want to be able to do more

Although I would like to do the Rubicon I understand that it is a very hard core trail. I just want to be prepared if I ever get on random trails like the Rubicon. I just have no idea where to start when it comes to suspension

I’d ditch the spacer lift. Add new rear leaf springs to the list. Looks like a lot of additional weight.

    Check out @AccuTune Offroad

If you find yourself actually needing, and not wanting to upgrade suspension this is it. If you really do plan on doing serious ball busting, the level 5 is the best you're gonna get for a mid travel set up.

Keep in mind, need vs want is totally up to you. If you are using your vehicle and maxing out everything you've got, nothing wrong with a little cut, grind, weld, and all the goodies that entails.

Not to be an ass but I'm assuming you're talking about Icon since you said level 5. Stage 5?

Whoops no sorry I meant the king/fox with archive hangars and rear shock relocation

Edit: meant stage 5 sorry https://accutuneoffroad.com/product/05-tacoma-mid-travel-suspension-kit-stage-5a-fox/

Looks like a damm fine kit and not a terrible price tag considering what you get. You can piece together a kit similar but if you don't want to deal with that OP and you want a one stop shop this will do it. Almost double your price range though with that said they have other options in your price range. Really look at the articles accutune posts about suspension ect. You might find yourself getting exactly what you want from something as easy and economical as bilstein B110 rear with a new leaf pack, and 5100 up front on some OME 886 coils and be done for under $1200

Not to derail, but if you’re hitting up all those trails with a 3” spacer, are you also running an aftermarket UCA? Because i’m not and bad things happen at max droop

How have you done a bunch of off-roading but don't know much about suspension? UTV or something?

Some great comments above. 3" spacer lifts scare me.

Sounds like you really want to use the truck off-road a lot, which is great to hear! With those types of trails and terrain in mind, I would strongly suggest investing in something quality that can be tuned, adjusted and rebuilt. Like mentioned above we do have some great mid travel kits available. Try not to let a budget limit you. If it does, save up and wait until it is affordable. You will be much happier in the long run with ride quality, and a durable product you can rely on in the middle of the desert.

Correct, mainly with jeeps with the old man. Bought my Tacoma and just want to make sure I'm doing it right

I think he was hinting at the fact that he's done them in other vehicles. Seeing as he's only had the truck for 6 months.

Awesome, this is definitely pointing me in the right direction. I'm also not sure about the weight limits when it comes to suspension. I want to be able to have all my camping equipment and of course armor
