Do you have any issues with the side panels sitting flush against the space frame due to the angles of the vertical tubing?

no, the bulb seals on the doors are tall enough to compensate

I was considering doing a build similar with the panels fixed to the space frame and no struts (to save money and time). Do you think the aluminum composite panel is workable enough to bend along the angles in the frame or just go for it and make the panels lift up as you have done?

I work this stuff a bunch at work, use it for signage and what not. More common name for the composite is ‘dibond’

You can bend this stuff, but you really only get 1 shot at it. And if you go too far, it’ll snap at the bend.
The proper way to bend this stuff is to rout out a channel in the backside and use the channel as your bend line. YouTube ‘bending dibond’ you’ll get some good results.

OP, how necessary do you think the side panels are to have open? On the fence of whether or not to have them fold up, or keep them permanently closed like the vaga drifter..

Its open to interpretation, But IMO its worth the effort to have them open.

Hye, I could have missed it but what do you plan to do on the power supply? Does one extra battery do it for you?

I have just a single deep cycle powering everything. The switch on the panel is a cutoff for the panel and the fridge has a low voltage cutoff of its own.

Ahhh gotcha, yeah I was talking about a possible alternate battery aside from main power. Do you plan to utilize any other power supply besides the main power and alternator?

I have power cutoffs so nothing drains from the battery, and the parts that do run 24/7 (fridge, dashcam) have low-voltage cutoff sensors.

If all else fails, I have a LiPo jump pack.

La mow. Hope it is these days.

Just found this. Inspiring. Been eyeing those aluminum rails on McMaster recently. Started playing with them in Solidworks this week. Now I find this.
    So rad.

How do you like the 600D PU coated Polyester? Any issues so far with performance in heavy rain? Ordering my fabric this week :D

    Great thanks!

Do you find the 4 hole inside corner brackets sufficient compared to the 8 hole you used on V1? Did you end up pinching the tent behind these brackets since the Keder rail stops there?

I'm also getting ready to order fabric and have a quick zipper question, Did you put zippers on both the mesh and the solid flaps on your side doors/windows? It looks like it in your build thread but wasn't 100% sure. I'm just trying to roughly translate your BOM zipper quantities to what I need if only doing a zipper on the rain flaps and rear door... my mom's least favorite thing to sew are zippers (and of course this has plenty of them) so I'm trying to keep it simple for her sake with the screens fixed on the sides.
