    Yeah, ill be honest... I havnt been doing much on the tuning side (well flashing things at least) on my truck for fear of having to wait a hell of a long time to get replacement parts. Been meaning to do the cam gears, but dont want to tear into a perfectly good working truck with shit hitting the fan like it is.

    Not like i have any extra free time like most enjoying a quarantine vacation.... working IT for a university has increased work substantially. (which in the big scheme of things is a good thing)

    it’s almost as if a different team of engineers calibrated the FJ vs. Tacoma.

    Haha send it my way, give me something to do as far as tuning!

    Im still waiting for HPT (honestly forgot about the ticket i had with em till you brought up FJ... ill have to hit them up) to fully support my buddies FJ (NA'd auto), a few key things are missing in the CAL as far as tables go.

    That stated, the auto portion of his FJ cal is essentially identical to what we see on the taco side... now you have me real curious.

    Betting that the 4Runner and FJ are more closely related than the Taco.

    The 4Runner can easily get better gas mileage out of the box. Has a more strict CAN system, and has a YAW sensor.

    are we talking single vvti or dual vvti 4 runner.... im betting single vvti FJ and 4runner are probably all similar. (Buddies single vvti FJ is super similar to tacos, just missing tables in HPT at this point)

    Toyota definitely tunes the engine differently depending on what chassis it is in.

    the 2GR FKS is tuned wildly different depending on if it is in the Tacoma, Camry, or RX350

    Oh big time, I believe also they have different cam profiles as well?

    Now thats interesting, kinda makes me wanna pull down the tune for my moms 07 4runner.

    Just in case anyone else wants to put a Taco ECU in their 1GR-FE Hilux this is the harness and wiring that you need to make and put in. I was going to do a little .pdf guide for people when I get a chance. The Deutch plugs are 120 Ohm resistors thanks to @Au1gr . Means swapping back to stock just pull the plugs and put stock hilux ECU back in.
