In the wake of COVID 19 who all is keeping more of a conscience effort to keep your Tacoma clean and sterile?

my tacoma is my safe space, so i try to make sure there is nothing brought in that i dont want. When going into a store, i always have hand sanitizer on me, and always use it before entering or even touching the handle. I try to put anything purchased in the bed, easier with a tonneau or cap. But yes, been trying to keep it cleaner, less things to worry about getting infected. I dont go overboard, but conscious decisions to try and keep healthy. Once a week or so i clean frequently touched surfaces

Clean only in the sense that there isn't shit scattered across the seats.

Sterile, hell no. Don't be running any blacklights around my cockpit, you won't like the results.

I keep a can of lysol spray in my truck. Every time I leave a Doctors Office I spray a paper towel or rag and wipe down the door handles, steering wheel, park brake handle, shifter knob, radio and stereo controls. Basically anything I think I might have touched, and I also use hand sanitizer after I open the door. I have no desire to catch this crap at my age.

I don't get the hystera for something that has a 98% or better survival rate for the majority that catch it.

The bigger fear is the hospitalization rates when no mitigating efforts are in place/scarce in a given area. Hospitals can only treat so many at a time thus people with normal treatable illnesses are stuck waiting and suffer because of it. That's the logical fact-based situation....people being in hysterics and not doing basic common sense measures are mind boggling and making a manageable situation unmanageable for some areas. The nice thing is that we are going to get to see how it all plays out over the winter and will know if people's fears come to realization or if it was much to do about nothing.

I havent washed my vehicle once since March.

I don’t Uber or have strangers in my car. What, am I going to get COVID from myself?

    That would be scary.

Well let’s do the math... we estimate 350,000,000 In the US. What does 2% of 350,000,000 equal? 7,000,000 people.

So if everyone in the US catches the virus, we can estimate around 7,000,000 people will BE DEAD, that’s roughly equivalent to the entire population of Arizona.

And as you said that’s 98% survival for “the majority” which implies that there are certain groups In our population which have a much higher death rate, so now you have to really get down and dirty with the studying the math and controls Factors and all that fun stuff to determine the “actual” death rate. Which could possibly land higher than 2% when we have had a long enough time to track this novel virus, which takes time.

    For comparison,

    1
Number of military fatalities in all major wars involving the United States from 1775 to 2020

    American Civil War (1861-1865) 620,000
    World War II (1939-1945) 405,399
    World War I (1917-1918) 116,516
    Vietnam War (1965-1973) 58,209
    Korean War (1950-1953) 36,516
    American Revolutionary War (1775-1783) 25,000
    War of 1812 (1812-1815) 20,000
    Mexican-American War (1846-1848) 13,283
    War on Terror** (2001-present) 7,053
    SpanishAmerican War (1898) 2,446
    Gulf War (1990-1991) 258

dont worry I’ll add those up so you dont have to since math is obviously hard. That is an estimated 1,304,680 people who have died in all of the wars America has fought for our freedoms. And you wonder why a 98% “survival rate” is problematic to say the least?

Now scale that up because hospitals get cant handle the influx of patients from a large peak, and that death rate doubles? that’s what public health officials should be trying to do, is keep spikes down so the death rate stays down so that everyone can get treated And that death rate stays as low as possible.

Stock up on the hand sanitizer and keep hiding under your bed.

the Science now showing that masks/face coverings do not necessarily work as you would think they ought
my county, of roughly half million residents, has been under a 'mask mandate' for several months now
the positivity rate the local news just told me is 21% over however many days they measure, that is HIGH
    wth

this all must be the purest of the basic rudimentary sciences then is how to figure, which sucks!
i gotta wash & clean my truck again this week

I always get a good laugh when I see someone by themselves in their car driving down the road with a mask one. Seriously who in their right mind would do this. They look really stupid doing this. Maybe we'll bet a new law passed where this will be required, or walking anywhere outdoors will also require a mask, even if your by yourself. Deer Hunters will be required to wear one while sitting in their tree stands or ground blinds.
