It is not correct, I have a buddy who was nice enough to let me take his 19 for a spin. Yes it’s on the most recent beta

Yes you have to buy vf tune to use VF tune. Unless your one of the limited of what like 100 people who has a dongle and can get the vf tune for free.
Thats because hes talking about normal use for vf tune for anyone who purchases only vftune. Being an owner of the tune from before vf he is giving us some extra incentive to upgrade so we can still get the tune we paid for and be able to upgrade and get the benefits of vftune.

I stand corrected, but do you agree that the tip in is not the best?

I have been contributing and helpful in this thread for more than a year; however, Mat's recent derogatory comments about dongle users changed my entire opinion on this situation and the man himself.

I'd probably get banned if I wrote what I'm really thinking about all of it, so let's just leave it at that.

Yes exactly! I almost wish he'd just be like "Eff everyone" and not bother with it because of how people are acting. I see why TW is talked about poorly...

Yep, it's a few whiney impatient people that will ruin it for everyone else.

Can someone PM me if/when 2.0 final is released? This crap is just embarrassing.

Then again it's like a train wreck you just can't look away from.

I do, however people would explode about the tip-in on 1.03, 1.04, and 1.05 (all of which seemed to dull down after about 1500 miles). It’s gotten way too out of hand in the past and has led to a lot of delays/problems

As a newby (still looking for a truck), can I asked the question here, or start a new thread; What other tuners are available that perform something like the OVTUNE? I get the feeling OVTUNE is the only one.

I'm not looking to put down OVTUNE or continue this thread in emotional vent, I just want to learn what else is out there. I can start a new thread if that is a better place for the question.

I looked and could not find any for 3rd gen Tacomas. It is possible that I didn’t look hard enough

honestly with the poor job Toyota has done with the drivability of the 3rd gen I would look at all other manufactures before making a purchase. You may decide the 3rd gen is still your choice. If you are looking for a MT then drive all the MT's - if you are looking for a AT then drive all the AT's - then decide how they compare. Don't count on OVTune to fix your issues with the 3rd gen as your expectations may exceed reality. The same may be true for all the other manufactures too. May want to consider the Tundra and avoid the Tacoma issues all together. GL.

Hi, I'm sorry if this is dumb or has been asked. But I just recently purchased this product for my 2020. It seems very little was done with the 2020 yet, right? There are 2 versions of 2.0 out...87 and 91 octane. There were no other previous versions released (just 2.0). And I question how much testing was even done on these versions. Hell, the truck wasn't even out until late 2019 (maybe 6 months ago).

I feel it's pretty shitty to spend $800 and see a company stop developing soon after. Am I wrong? It wasn't a cheap purchase.
Anyone else with a 2020 feel the same?

Some of it is bad timing. I could argue that a concern would be for legacy device users. I bought a handheld only to find out it doesn’t work on 2018-2020

If it's any consolation, there was never any promise of consistently developing new tunes. Only a promise of developing until there was a final tune. The final tune is close to finished but not yet available. Once the final tune is available, OVTune will have fulfilled his commitment to Tacoma Flash Kit owners.

If you want more tunes that are constantly changing/developing, then vF Tuner is the choice for you once it is available for Tacomas.

What did I say derogatory about dongle users?
I don't recall saying anything specific or derogatory towards dongle users. And I'm not sure why you are so bent out of shape just because we haven't taken your offer of helping with testing and feedback? I get hundreds of people asking us to provide feedback. I could have simply looked at your ticket and see that you don't fit what certain criteria we are looking for.
For example....having a p5f license makes testing 10x quicker and easier. So you don't fit that criteria, end of story.

On more than 1 occasion we have offered the idea of having people switch, only to get mixed reviews about that. I'm honestly tired of working 7 days a week every day only to get trolled over the word "soon" every few pages.

There are reasons I don't want to do additional testing, tuning, testing and tuning with the 19s. Mainly, the fuel pump recall. People in this thread, including you, have not a clue what is going on in the back ground. Not to mention I have been accused of my tune being the reason for all the problems on these trucks (19s) including failing fuel pumps. Whenever something happens with these trucks and the word "tune" is involved I get first to blame until the actual cause is found. In this very thread a guy had a rat chew through his harness and I quickly had to figure that out for him to avoid that scenario. And it's happening again.
Trucks stalling on the highway and I am getting blamed for that too, when these trucks have bad fuel pumps.

I don't want someone to try to sue me because someones trucks engine shut off on the highway and they DID NOT KNOW a fuel pump recall was out. Because this has happened on multiple occasions now.

So I am hands off for the moment for additional testing and tuning. And in regards to tip in... there is no right answer so I made the first bit same as stock. That didn't work either.

MAT, for new buyers, included the VF and 2.0 Final in the 3rd gen Tacoma package for $775.00. They then have the option to custom tune if they choose to with a website for support.

For original buyers ..WAIT.. for 2.0 Final to drop THEN decided if you would like to keep it or change it. If you decide to custom 2.0 Final , purchase VF for $75.00.
    ..15% off for Canadian buyers..lol

    IT'S THAT SIMPLE !!!!!!!

Respectfully I ask that nobody posts about this company in our thread. This company..the owner, bought our product to "test" shortly before releasing their tune. According to them it's standard business practice for them to buy other competing companies tunes, then develop their own.
In the real world, this is fishy. Imagine.. for example a off road bumper company buying a competing companies bumper for the tacoma, then a few weeks later releasing their Bumper.
Their website has no info regarding this so it's not transparent, and there is nothing except "their word" that they are buying competitors tunes to review.

This company is also on our black list for vF Tuner. I put in a ton of effort to find the correct tables, and translations for them. And I'm letting everyone know now that if you share your copy / give access to vF Tuner with them you will lose your license and access to your flash kit (if you have one) permanently, no exceptions.

There are a few other companies on our software black list as well, but they don't deal with the tacoma so you don't really have to worry about that.
