I asked sparks parts for a copy.

Btw I finally installed mine today; absolutely love it...not sure why they don't come standard.

Estimating it a $10 part to themselves, investing time and knowledge having it come standard on a $35k to $50k truck for free... "yeah we rather make the $10 part and then charge another million to stupid customers MUAHAHA" - Toyota USA

I did this mod a couple days before we all got shut down due to COVID-19. It is a super easy mod to do. My truck was maybe 2 weeks old. It was a kinda cool way to explore how your truck snaps together, literally!!!

I ordered the bed light kit the day I bought my truck, a couple days later it came in so I installed that day, took 20 minutes tops. I can mine was pre-wired. Just snap the blanks out and snap the lights in and plug in.

I didn't see any conflicts with the OEM tailgate lock and the OEM light kit.

IMHO, this really should have been a standard feature on this truck.

Thanks man. Sorry guys. Times are really crazy right now with the COVID-19 situation going on. Trying to stay up with everything here as much as I can.

Just a little update. I’m the only one working in our County for Finance and Tax and everyone else is working from home remotely, so I’m the go between that keeps us all together and working. As well as the 16 Districts still functioning economically right now. Therefore, it’s a bit tough right now with time.

Thanks for tagging me as it does help. @fastforwarddad you would like to know what mods I have connected to my PNP Harness? Let’s see what all I have:
    • Blind-Side Cameras
    • RGBW Turn Signals
    • Tailgate Opener
    • Tailgate Lock
    • Puddle Lights
    • Smart Key System
I’m thinking I may have more connected to it but I’m drawing a blank right now. I’ll keep thinking.

I’m actually in the process of modding the OEM Kit that I purchased to check it out and see what it was all about. The kit is actually the same exact thing as mine with visual differences obviously but for the most part it is the same thing. The first thing I did was take off all the electrical tape they used on the PNP Harness, good lord, and check that mess out. Why they did it like that I have no idea. They could have made that harness 3” long but instead they made it I don’t know like 9” and in a U that went the wrong direction for me. I actually had to bend mine the other direction. The fuses on the lock and unlock wires is a wash. It’s really unnecessary but ok. Toyota just wanted to add extra stuff so I get it. As for the two 12V+ ACC Wires that are on the bottom (Blue and Grey Wires) which dictate whether you have window jam protection or not, why did they make those wires that long and then twist them all crazy. They could have made them both the same length as the white, purple, black, and whatever other color wires. That is really unnecessary. I wonder why they did that. Does anyone know if that serves for another purpose for this harness? Like is there an add-on kit that Toyota has for those two wires and that’s why they made them like that? Other than that, the PNP Harness is just straight through-n-through Wires. I’m not sure I care that the PNP Harness is connected to the rest of the Harness. Have any of you ran into wanting to disconnect it and not being able to remove it yet? I have added to mine so much that I can’t imagine having to do that while my PNP Harness would have had to stay in my truck. I will say the PNP Harness is nice with all the colored wires and everything. That’s cool. I’m actually modifying it and making my harness but with it. Haha. It’s going to be interesting. Just playing around and want to see how it turns out. Never know what you can come up with next unless you try something. Who knows how long it will take me tho with the lack of time I have right now. I’m also thinking of playing around with the bracket and maybe doing something between this one and mine for the 2nd Gens so we will see.

I’d like to let people know that I’m offering a COVID-19 Discount starting Saturday and it will run until the end of the month to promote the Social Distancing.

My vendor is also about to ship your OEM Tailgate Lock Harness for the Tailgate Opener. I have modified the integrated harness to include the tailgate connector as well so you still will be able to disconnect. ;)

Let me know if you have any questions. I will try to get back to you as quick as I can. During this time, if you have my cell number, texting me might be the easiest way and fastest way to get a response.

Thank you @KTJO 4x4 for your response and for all you are doing in your community in efforts to keep it moving!!

I have a quick question...If I would like to do the tailgate opener, which is pretty trick, and already have the OEM TOYOTA PNP lock n unlock set up installed and working, maybe you can tell me exactly what i need to get from you?

I am very pleased with the RED TRD push button I got from you by the way and recommend it.

    Pro tip:

Make sure to run the T-harness that connects to the passenger footwell from the inside the cab, front to back, as one of the connectors will not fit in the grommet coming inside the cab. I learned this the hard way.

Today I installed the OEM tailgate lock, I must say it was a breeze to do it and glad I waited to buy the OEM as well!!! Quick question, I utilized the black zip ties instead of the metal. The metal ones were a pida to deal with:frusty:. Would I have any problems down the road?

Doubtful. I had plastic ones there previously when I was using the Pop N Lock. Never had an issue.

I replaced them with the metal ones because I like the agony.

I don't blame you. Just be sure the wiring is tucked up out of the way as much as possible and you should be good.
