Is anyone running a 285/70 17 on a nine inch wide rim with -12 offset? I would like to see pics if you do. Conversely, I would like to see the same tire on a zero offset eight inch rim.

I want to be less than an inch outside the fender lip with the tire.

    thanks!!!

It's a good look! I'm in Utah, right around Utah Lake to be specific.

Resurrecting this thread a bit, as I've just bought some wheels with a -12 offset, and a set of 285/70/17s coming in. Truck will be here in February, so seeing if I'll have to a a CMC. with this set up, have you had any rubbing issues? I'm going to scrap the mud flaps, and i'm not too worried about the UCA, really worried about rubbing the cab mount. Thanks.

And damn, trucks look great with this wheel/tire configuration. Thanks for posting these pics!!! I'll post some up when I get mine done.

It depends on your set up and what you are doing with your tuck... Lift, what tires, will you be off-roading? I have a 3 inch lift falcon at3's and only do minor off-roading and have no rub. I was also able to keep the wind dam and flaps on with some trimming and molding with a heat gun. So for me I got away without the cab mount chop.

Oh, sorry forgot to mention. I'm doing the TRD OEM lift. 3in in the front, 2in in the back, with a set of Toyo AT III's. I'm in Florida, so my offroading will be isolated to fire trails, woods, etc.

I think you will be ok. Light rubbing if any. Something you could always address after you get the tires on. It's not going to leave you stuck at the shop or anything if you don't do the CMC right away. Be prepared to either remove or trim the air dam though

Here's a 285/70/17 on a 8.5 @ -10mm. Very close to what you're asking for...just for comparison. I had just enough rub to piss me off. UCA and CMC fixed it all. I was hesitant to do the CMC but it really isn't a big deal at all.
