Im new to this forum and want to thank everyone for creating an amazing resource. I tried searching for this but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for..
I've got a 2018 Tacoma that I just mounted a uptop overland alpha rack to . I'm now looking to put kayak carriers on it.. question, there's not much room between the cab and the bottom of the rack for the knobs everyone seems to mount with . Has anyone found a system to mount a kayak mount to the 1x2 rectangular bars? Maybe using the tslots?

No need for anything fancy. These foam blocks would most likely fit on your bars. Add some cam straps as stated above and you're good to go.

I used a set of these on my old Jeep XJ's roof basket. Not surprisingly, they work just fine.

Works fine for me too. Different rack, but same theory/application.

I used to strap those to the roof of my corolla.

    Don't over complicate things.

Unless you need to carry them on edge, just use some foam pads or pool noodles under them.
