I'm currently looking at getting new tires for my truck. I've had the DuraTrac's for the last 8 years or so and they have served me well. However though, I recently went to Discount Tire and saw that they had these new UltraTerrain tires there and they said that they are going to replace the DuraTracs. I've read a few threads on here about the two of them but none of the ones that I read really compared the two. What's everybody's 2 cents on them? Is one better than the other? I've also posted up a poll about which one you personally think is better. If you're going to vote, please post why you voted for it. Thanks a lot. Don't forget to wash your hands. ;)

Thank you for thinking of us @tacomakid89 !

The Ultra Terrain is one of our exclusive tire models and it is my understanding that it is not replacing the DuraTrac. My apologies in advance for the confusion with that!

The two models in question are both All-Terrain tires (clearly) and utilize similar internal construction. Besides the tread design, both are pretty similar in performance. From the feedback I've seen, the main difference is that the Ultra Terrain tends to ride a little quieter on road do to a slightly aggressive tread pattern.

Hopefully other will chime in with their experience

The Duratrac is here to stay, for better or worse (worse in my opinion). The UltraTerrain is Discount Tire's in-house model, just like the Wrangler Authority is Walmart's in-house model. I have had very bad experiences with Duratracs on my fleet vehicles, so my opinion will be fairly biased. I did have a very good run with the Wrangler Authority, which is very similar to the UltraTerrain. Honestly, I'd stay away from any Goodyear products and go toward the Falken Wildpeak AT3W or Cooper Discoverer AT3. If you are dead set on Goodyear, I think the UltraTerrain will be a better choice than the Duratracs.
