Greetings everyone and thanks in advance for the help. I'm looking to give my truck a little more clearance for those backroads when camping and I'd also like to change up the look some. I don't want/need a big lift since I don't do any serious offroading and when it comes down to it, 95% of my travel will be on maintained roads. But it'd be nice to have suspension that can handle all the weight from my build out and camping gear when getting out onto BLM land.

So, having said all that: I'm trying to find the right combination of lift, wheels, and (snow rated) tires. I currently have LT235/75/15 tires and am figuring on moving up to 16s. From what I've read here, the largest tire I can ride without a lift is 265/75/16. Maybe this will give me the clearance I'm looking for and I can forego a lift until I have a bit more money? I'd like to at least level it but since I have the truck bed built out for camping, the weight brings the rear down a bit already.

Considering that my seasonal job was supposed to start in a week but has twice now been pushed back (to mid-June), I am on a tight budget. So one thing I've been looking at is getting 16s off of craigslist. If I pick up wheels from a 2nd or 3rd gen and get 265/75/16 tires, will I need to compensate for the backspacing? I read on one thread that once someone put on spacers, mechanics wouldn't do tire rotations etc. and that sounds like a hassle.

If anyone would like to put up pics of their 1st gen with 265/75/16s before/after a small lift, it'd be great to get an idea of how much difference it makes. I know that there are tons of threads out there and I've read through many of them but a lot of the descriptions go way over my head even after spending hours on here trying to learn all the different methods and parts and measurements.

If anyone has further suggestions, I'm happy to hear them.
