Hey, I read a bunch of threads on here. They really are bad. I replaced them in my 2020. It is a little better but for some reason the factory head unit just doesn't send squat to the rears for a signal. When I isolate the sound all the way to the rear on my kicker door speakers it's still a meek quiet little sound.

One day I will just replace the head unit and hope for better but I read I will lose my factory location for my speakerphone mic and now the phone call quality is very nice. I'm new in here but not new to Tacoma's or any type of giant stereos, the stereo is my new Tacoma is definitely the saddest thing for a new truck!

The problem is not the speakers, but rather the factory headunit sends very little volume to the rear speakers. The only real way to get around this is to either get a amp and turn up the gain for the rear, or get a aftermarket headunit to get equal power to the front and rear.

I replaced the head unit and all the speakers. Then added a Alpine 300w amp

sound should come from the front and not behind you. focus on front sound staging and bass from rear
