Anyone in Boulder/Lafayette or NE Denver (Cap Hill/City Park/etc) area have one of those hitch extender things for carrying lumber that I can borrow this weekend?

#shortbedproblems and I have to carry some 12' galvanized steel siding and 10' 4x4 posts.

 

Lumber, metal, strap it down, it won’t go anywhere

 

That's the thing... I won't be picking up enough to strap it down low enough with my 1st gen since my only tie downs are near the TOP of the bed. #bestgenshortbedproblems.

Ahhh I was unaware you didn’t have low toe downs, that does pose a problem yes...

I picked up 16’ sticks of base board today with maybe 2-3’ past the tailgate.

 

I did, but last trip the wood was about to shred the headliner, so I had to adjust the load and one 12' section of galvanized bent in the process due to not being supported by anything.

 

Ah the good ol days when you could safely go outside(or you were allowed to anyway)

If I were smarter >10 years ago, I would have just bought it off him and this would have been my #overlandAF vehicle. I think I only drove it ONCE ever. Mostly because he thought the power of that 303 V8 would be too much for a teenager.
