    A good compromise is 285/75/17s. About a 34

100% agree! Especially a true 34 like toyo - tall without the width that makes 315s a pain

    Yes, with metric sizes.

Problem with anything over 33” is now you need to find a new place to put your matching spare tire.

Weather you do 33,34 or 35's I think re gearing should be done. With the added weight of armor, camping gear and wheel/tire combo's. It's is also about lower gearing for the descents. While at it add lockers. However recovery gear, first aid and a good trail partner should be first on the list.

33s hands down. It'll make your rig plenty capable. 35s require more supporting mods and it's going to beat on your suspension components more.

Average joe usage, 33s and they’ll get you far.
I’ve done some decent trails and obstacles on 33s, this is one of them. Just pick the right line for your rig and you’ll do well.

If you are going any bigger or heavier tire in the auto without regearing you are gonna have a bad time.

Love mine. I didn’t mind the stuff I had to do to my truck to make them fit since I love wrenching on and modifying my truck. 33’s will get you a lot of places but I’m happy that I made the jump up. Been able to get over obstacles easier with 35’s that we’re more difficult in the past with 33’s (285/70/17)

Hey all, new member here. I wanted to get your thoughts on Nitto Ridge Grappler LT275/60/R20 (33'' tire) on a Bilstein 6112/5160 set-up. Getting it all put on this week. Too much rim for the truck or you think that would work? They are Black Rhino Warlord 20x9'' black and gunmetal. It wouldn't have been my first sizing choice, but I got them for free. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks fellas.

why did you just copy and paste this in multiple threads that have nothing to do with your questions...

you need to make your own thread.

    ^That.

    Two things, @GMaze21 :
    1. Don't cross-post. It's viewed as spamming the forum and tends to be treated as such.
    2. Go make your own thread rather than hijacking others.

Ok copy that. Didn’t know that was against etiquette. I’ll create my own thread.

My question does pertain to this thread. I’m putting on 33s, and I figure some before and after photos once I do it would be useful for others, as well as offering some feedback as for how they do as a daily driver, mpg, etc in regards to the original poster’s question once I try them out. Is that not how this forum works? Share ideas, ask questions, offer helpful feedback?

As for why I posted this question on 3 different threads, I’m also putting on the 6112/5160s, so that’s where I posted... it’s because I’m looking for some input and opinions. If a larger audience sees the question, the more likely to get a response.

Sorry if that bothers you, but if that is against this forum’s etiquette, I’m happy to alter course. Hence, in this case, I guess I’m supposed to create a thread. Thanks for the lesson.
