if your doors look like this i can possibly see how the highway wind vibes and rattle could be an issue
with all of that plastic there and not much for vinyl and/or carpet on the panel to deaden the sound
my truck is nearly full carpeted on the panels so any noise is probably dampened and not noticeable even with the sensitive hearing i may have

The proportioning valve for the rear brakes and the plastic cover on the side of the seats. Really small price to pay for a truck that's been this good, sans the motor incident.

Holy One Year Thread revival! But yeah my doors look just like that-zero noise. I believe his trouble may be a door panel clip or two not properly seated. He said he already removed that panel before and he may have screwed up those clips in the process, or just didn't seat them hard enough.

    Ridgerunner,
I have lately been on a quest to discover what the beef is that quite a large # of 1st gen drivers have with the road noise issue in their trucks.
Some will go to great lengths to take the panels off the doors, the panels in the back, floor pan carpet and anything else to stuff insulation and padding to eliminate the wind and road noise that really seems to bother them, some have medical conditions with their hearing that amplifies!

I have also been experimenting with mine lately on the highway and taking stock. Most of the time for me it depends on the surface of the road, for example I-80 in Iowa has bad spots in certain counties for noise induced from the tires that i cannot even drive with the driver window partway down (having the window partially down I have concluded will noise cancel the vibes from the rear wheels, exhaust or spinning driveshaft, not exactly sure which is the culprit!) however, on I-29 in Iowa a different type of surface was used and I can go fast with the window partway down and it seems quiet as a mouse with just a mild breeze blowing past

so i really don't know yet, it seems to be a big issue for a good number on TW

My biggest issue was the uncomfortable bench seat it came with, but I replaced it with Master Craft buckets and fixed that. Now it's that the 2.7l doesn't have a lot of juice for road tripping, that and that after 313K miles it sort of died. But I may not be giving up on it yet!

    I can't think of anything.

Well, I can think of stuff but then I'm like, eh...
-that's not that big a deal or
-the truck is 17 years old with 245,000 miles or
    -that's solvable with an upgrade.

It’s not that I don’t like but I wish my windows the the backseat pivoted from the top like a safari window. So my pup can stick her head out the window when she’s in the back seat.

    Edit:
    I take that back....^

2 clutch start safety switches. One pushbutton on the dashboard by the door(clutch start cancel), and one on the clutch pedal.

Guess what happens when both of those fail at THE SAME TIME.

Nothing happens,,your truck wont start. Ask me how I know.

Always have a jumper wire or spare switch for those,,or bypass them all together.

Lost the clutch pedal switch and then ordered one. While waiting for the switch to arrive,,the dash switch failed 2 days later, 450 miles from home out in the wilds.

Made a jumper connection for the clutch pedal switch to get home, in the pouring rain.

I ended up clipping the connection plug off the wiring harness by the clutch pedal,,and twisting those two ends together. Make sure to clip the plug off long enough to work with again if you want to reconnect. Not much wire to begin with, so use good judgement.

I have a spare clutch start cancel button in my glove box. Wild that they both failed lol.

Frame and its vulnerability to rust and snapping in half.....other than that everything else is trivial IMO.

    This should be a poll.

In the 2000 they had square cup holders. Like duh. The math doesn't add up - Pie are square, cups are not square?
