I recently dumped a bunch of money on a lift, wheels and tires... Now I'm having some apprehension about my purchase. I bought an ome heavy spring rate 2" lift with 285/70R17 tires and fuel vector wheels with a -12 offset. Are my tire size and lift combo going to work? If not how much trimming am I going to have to do.

Unless you're in the 1% of lucky fellows, yes, you will need a CMC. Don't sweat it, it's not a huge deal.

You may also have to flatten the pinch weld. Also not that big a deal.

There are no mistakes, only choices.

If your combination doesn’t work, make it work.

I have a 3/2 ready lift with fuel -1 rim, 285-70-17 nitto tire. No rub issue other than having to slightly cut lower scoop ( sport model ). I have about 3/4 “ off upper control arm. You should be fine. Your -12 rim will push your tire toward the outside giving you more tire poke out. I am very happy with the way my truck came out. Your only difference is you have a 2” lift. Watch tire weight which will affect your off the line performance. Also some tire manufacturers have bad balancing issues.

Thank you for the input. I am aware of the low end performance loss I will see with the bigger tires. I will probably do a 4.88 ring and pinion gear reduction in the near future.
