So today I will be going to see an old friend of mine who is dying of brain cancer. Although there is some hope , I doesn’t look very likely he will win. It’s my obligation to see him in person and hold it together. I can’t even hold it together now as I type this.
But I have this to share....

One day my wife was sitting on the couch shouting at the tv...
"Don't go in there! Don't go in the church you moron!"
I went to see what she was watching. It was our wedding video.

I use to work in a door lock factory (I know, I'm a well rounded man). Anyhow, I remember the ladies that worked on the packing lines had ashtrays in front of them, there was a long line of ladies smoking while they worked (minus the one or two that didn't smoke).

Growing up I lived with my grandmother on the farm a lot. She had electricity in the house but no running water, we had an outhouse. She still cooked on a wood stove until the late 70’s.

Did she have that metal container of grease on the stove that she used for cooking?

She never kept it on the stove. In the late 70’s my dad and uncle bought her an electric stove. She went from the best cook to the worst cook that day. It took her awhile to get the hang of instant heat.

My granny had one just like this. She'd slop that shit in everything she cooked; rolls, greenbeans, soup...it didn't matter, she'd throw some in there. She lived to be 93.
