Hey everyone. Had a recent problem with my 2019 TRD Sport. After driving it without incident for about 6 months, it started to have a raw gas smell. Dealer says I overfilled and gas went into canister. Suggested I not fill all the way for awhile and see if it goes away. I always stop filling the tank when nozzle first clicks off. Anyone experience this? What can be done?

I've never heard anyone having that problem and it sounds like they brushed you off . Keep a nose on it and if it keeps up make them fix it .

It won't fix itself. The charcoal in the canister dissolves in liquid gas. The odor may go away but the melted charcoal won't. If you are lucky the canister well still vent but won't scrub hydrocarbons anymore. You will smell fuel on warm days if this happens. Or the melted charcoal will block the vent. You will start hearing a hissing sound when you open the gas cap. The severity of the blockage will determine the level of problems from annoying to not to good.
