What to use to repair scuffs + scratches on interior plastic parts?

Hi everyone,
I just purchased a 2020 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Off-Road Edition last week and when I was at the dealership I didnt notice any scratches on it, I did notice some plastic dust/residue (small bits of plastic) on the back bench seat while the truck was still at the dealership but I just thought nothing of it. This week I was cleaning some of the plastic panels on the truck with some water and a microfiber towel because there was road dust on the inside of the truck and thats when I noticed a scrape on the power drivers seat and a big scratch on the plastic panel next to the carpets after I rubbed some water over them with the microfiber cloth. Im not sure if it happened at the dealership and they tried to cover their tracks by putting something on it to clean it up or if it happened while I was showing my family members the truck when i drove it home and they were climbing in the drivers seat to look at the truck from inside.

It is rather annoying though that a truck that ive only had for 2 weeks already has scratches on the interior. Does anyone know if those plastic trim pieces can be replaced at the dealership? or is there any way that I can repair them myself?

try armorall wipes. Honestly, I wouldn't worry... they will keep coming back. Also, it is texturized I believe, so there is really not much you can do. It's a truck...

 

Put seat covers on it

 

Good point, its bound to get more scratches on it in the future since people have to climb to get in the truck. I guess I was just disappointed that it got scratches on it so soon.

I already have some of those on order some Clazzio Seat Covers, just waiting for them to get made and come in so that I can install them.

 

Do not use armor all as it is the equivalent to garbage.

 

It will conceal it for 5 minutes...

 

Saying in general it is not a good product to begin with regardless of use.

 

What makes it a bad product?

 

it has been known to dry out plastic. If you want a cheap interior product then pick up 303. At least it has uv inhibitors.

 

Maxima SC1 is your friend

 

I would use a melamine sponge. You probably know them as "magic erasers". As long as there isn't an actual deformation in the plastic, they will (or should) remove the marks.

Agreed on the armor-all. Don't buy it, don't use it, don't even think about it.
