Crazy to see some of you are still getting snow even though I know it's normal for your areas. We've had a few days 85* plus already. :bananadead: I wish we would have had a good snow storm this year...I know some of you who get TOO much of it every year think that's a silly thing to want haha. I'm in upstate SC and we usually get snow 3-4 times a year at most. More than the rest of the state! However, even our "big" snow falls are a few inches at most except for a rare exception now and then. This year though, it snowed twice that I remember. The first didn't last more than an hour and there was no accumulation and the second snow, there was maybe 2 inches on the ground but not enough to cover the roads. I have a road near me I love to drive up through the snow, haven't had a good snowfall for it while owning my Taco though!

This is the road as seen from my Cherokee, it's a couple miles from my house. Was from January 2018, a few months before I got my truck.

We had none other than a flurry here in central NC this past winter. The last good snow we had was 18” in December of ‘18

I'm in Maine and we didn't get enough all year. It was hands down the worst winter snowfall in my 25 years. Snowmobiling never got off the ground in a couple areas. Never had enough snow to groom and fill in any creeks/sippy holes. And just to tease us we get over a foot last Friday, and it's all gone already.

I can't even imagine that much haha. When I was much younger we had 12" fall. I don't remember it though, my mom told me about it. The most I can actually remember having and playing in was maybe 8" or so a few years back (yes, I'm 31 and will gladly still go out and play in the snow when we have it...like, snow angels, snowmen, snowball fights and everything).

I guess it was a pretty mild winter for a lot of states. We didn't have many days below freezing this winter, which is even surprising for us down here!

Well, this may put a damper on getting my engine build done. ‍

Bambi played chicken and lost... mostly. Smoked the grille, both headlights, front bumper cover, and the metal support behind it. Bent the passenger fender in a bit, was able to unbend that by hand. No damage to the hood or drivers side fender. Did break the little plastic panel under the headlight though. And knocked my lightbar off, ripping the wires out.
Thankfully no damage to any important bits like the radiator or core support. Both headlights fell out and I couldn't keep them in place, so the plan is to go back and get the truck tomorrow, and zip tie those back in place so I can still get to work this week.

Glad you are okay. Things could have been much worse. Came upon a similar accident about 25 years ago. Deer went through the windshield. Killed the passenger and severely injured the driver.

But the real question is: did you bring the deer home and hack it up or what? In seriousness though, that totally sucks. Sorry to hear.
I only ask because I nailed a deer with my 90 Camaro when I was a teenager, broke its leg and maimed it enough to where my barbarian buddy who was with me.. who is appropriately an Army Ranger now.. chased it into the woods and finished it off, dragged it back out, and we managed to strap it to the 2’ wide back trunk and get it home, dressed, packed, and consumed. Most delicious collision to date..

Officer asked if I wanted it, I said no. It was a really small deer and I'm pretty sure I kersploded stuff on the inside based on what was outside. All the meat was contaminated. This was a 50 ish mph hit.

I grew up in northern Maine, right off the Canadian border. 45 minutes from the closest town, so I'm used to deer incidents. Seen well more than my fair share.
