I’m meticulous to a fault I keep all my vehicles very clean. For the motorbikes quick detail spray is great for wipe downs. More than that I use regular car wash and for greasy stuff Simple Green.

Only thing I have done to the rear is 1 tooth smaller front sprocket. I have heard the stock chain is terrible, I will keep an eye on it. I really want to fix the front forks. They are super soft and are pogo sticks. It’s comical how bad they are.

I put 1200 miles on my Z125 when I had it.. no issues. I wasnt abusing it, but also wasnt babying it either. I went exploring, and jumped curbs and such.

I wonder if I will ever get another one. Or a Monkey..

The grom makes me feel fat at 195lbs. Forks bottom out hitting potholes and curb entering my driveway. Gotta lose some weight or upgrade the forks. $125 for new springs or $300-$400 for complete rebuild.

At the dealership we used the same soap for all of the bikes. We didn't wax the denim bikes. I would use BugSlide or Honda spray cleaner (sacrilege) on the denim bikes in the rental fleet to protect the paint. They had a deeper satin look to them instead of matte, but we didn't have to deal with bugs sticking to the bikes or paint chipping off if we looked at them sideways.

I think stock is only rated for 140lbs rider, 309lbs total payload, unless I am thinking of another bike I was reading about. Works well for the wife, not as much for me.

There is a Goldwing for sale locally that has 181,000 miles on it.

I wonder what stories that bike could tell...

That sounds about right. Same, works great for the wife. I don’t want to overspring it and have the wife not like it.

Honda Grom OEM spring rate is 0.40 kg/mm ( ~3.9n/mm).

    KG to n/mm conversions:

    • .55 kg/mm = (~5.4n/mm) Riders under 195lbs
    • .65 kg/mm = (~6.4n/mm) between 190lbs - 240lbs
    • .70 kg/mm = (~6.9n/mm) between 240lbs - 280lbs

That move was a double edged sword. It not not only cut down on the number of scam posts, it also reduced the number of people that post to CL as a whole. Everyone is moving to FB marketplace.

That sucks. I deleted all of my social media a long time ago. It has turned into a cancer that is realistically the root cause of most of what is currently wrong in the world.

Bored at work. Really wanting to go home and work on the bike. Not a bad day to ride, although @fatfurious2 will say its currently too cold at 52.

That sucks... CL has been my go-to for a long time, bought/sold quite a few vehicles there.

Agreed lol - forums are the closest thing I have to social media.

It’s nice and sunny again and most of the roads are clear of snow but it’s 24° out. Maybe an afternoon ride tomorrow based on a forecast high of 54°, otherwise I’m waiting until Sunday or Monday.
