Nope, when it leveled out I just stepped on it and pushed through. I got a decent bow wave going. I think that's about as deep as I'd take a stock Taco though. Anything more and you need a lift for sure. Really just because it starts to float and that's bad news bears.

Big thanks to Aaron and Josh for documenting the day. Their pictures all came out excellent. Their pictures and my under-hood mud are the only proof we went out there. My truck was totally clean when we got back to Fort Worth.

I'm sure you could have done most, if not all, the water driving in 2-hi. I only had to switch to 4x, to creep out where the Jeep almost got stuck. Other than that I was in 2 wheel the entire time in the water. I'm sure the tires made a difference though.

I rolled in 4HI basically all day. It's good up to 60mph so I couldn't figure out a reason to use 2WD. Realistically, if I drove in 2WD and got stuck it would be too late already. Switching to 4WD might not get my unstuck but it would have kept me from getting stuck in the first place. :)

^Hell yeah. How much more did you guys do after I left? Did you guys end up going up that HUGE hill that puts you back at the entrance of the park? That's the last thing we did before we rolled out.

Yeah, we did this one a few times. Real fun with it slippery. We watched a Land Rover try to slide backwards down it, after they got stuck. Anymore sliding, and they may have slid right off the side.

My brother and I sayed until about 3. I took him back and showed him the more advanced trails that I had been on, after everyone left. Some of the trails that I don't think the stock trucks could have even got to.

You're not stock anymore. You took care of that when you hit your bumper on that rock.

I was referring more to his tires...but that too

We were driving in front of him (headed for the water) and we saw him lining up on it. I was screaming trying to roll down the windows and Rob just stared in horror saying, "It's too late; he's sliding and can't stop."

I was following Brian (first gen) when he took us over that area the first time. I saw him do it from the other side of the hill but had ZERO line of sight for myself as to what was over it. I'm lucky it didn't happen to me the first time.

Yea, going up that hill without a spotter was a bad idea...I had already forgotten how completely blind it was. I knew there were bad rocks to the left, but I had no traction. Standing on the brakes, I still slid down.

I got under the truck yesterday to look for any other damage, but I saw nothing wrong. I did notice a fairly large grommet under the driver's door sill that had been pulled completely out. The carpet above was dry as a bone, so I guess I got lucky.

It hasn't scared me though...I'd go back in a heatbeat, wet or dry!

I like that attitude. I'm with ya. Wet was a different experience, made it exciting.

It really did. And it was nice that it wasn't hot as hell. I wish I had more time to spend out there. My departure was delayed due to one late arrival and a change of plans. I need to do more exploring out there.

This has me thinking about buying a Go Pro HD camera. It's like $299 at REI and you can get a handle bar mount (for biking) or a suction cup mount for the truck. Shoots 1080p and is waterproof to like 100ft. I think I could have some fun with that. What do you guys think?

If you got the monies and think you'll use it, GET ONE!! They are built like a brick shithouse, and you'll find a million ways to use it. Picture quality is great too.
