The problem I'm having is the sound will just randomly quit on all sources. Th head unit is still on just no sound. If I turn the truck off/on it will play again till it happens. I have a t harness connected to my amps so was wondering if warranty would still be an option. I would have to drive around till it happened and then get to the dealer and let them look before restarting. Has anyone else had this happen, and if so what was the solution

Are you playing your stereo at high volume and max? Could be your amps going into protect. Mine did this when I ran everything off my 5 channel. I now added a mono amp for the sub and never had this problem since.

Not at the time it first happened. I looked at both amps when it happened and they were both fine, no protect light.Everything has been running great since december and all of a sudden this.I feel like it's the head unit but got a feeling Toyota will say no warranty because I ran the amps. What did happen is the music started getting quieter and distorted then stopped playing.Drove home and turned the truck off/on and it came back for a few seconds then went out again

And the weird thing is all sound is gone but everything is playing on the screen. It's not a 5 ch amp. I have a 4 ch and a 1 ch

Yeah mines did that, everything on screen is normal but the sound and the beeping is gone. I’d re check all your connections again. Or remove your whole sound system and run it stock and then see if it shuts off again then take it to toyota.

Haha, really don't want to remove everything. That would be a big deal. I'll check my wiring tomorrow it's 100 degrees out now. Might be because I bridged the 4 ch and drawing to much

Could be one of the factors. Probably took a while, might have internal damage. But I’d check to be sure. Either that or run a amp with more output.

I just went out and changed up my 4 ch back to unbridged 4 channels and so far so good. It's so hot out it's hard to get anything done. Definitely need a bigger amp as my speakers are pretty under powered. Sounded great when it worked !

Well so much for that. It starts out working just fine, both amps. Was just playing at a medium volume driving and after 10 minutes it starts breaking up and just keeps getting quieter till there is no sound. I pull over turn the truck off and the whole thing repeats itself. Could it maybe be the speaker level to rca adapters causing this. Everything is only a few months old and this just started yesterday

Probably something is wrong internally with the amps. Maybe damaged components, you have other amps to test? What amps you got?

Ok, so I had some rockford rca adapters going to the speaker level inputs. Snipped them off and used another set i had that have simple push terminals. Now everything is playing. Sat in the truck for 30 minutes with it playing at all levels, mostly very loud and no issues.I hope that was it. No way 2 new amps could both go bad at the same time. One is a rockford and the other a jl rd400/4.Think maybe the rca adapters were bad, at least i hope so !
