Help me with my 5100 set up

So I just bought my new 2018 TRD off-road and it came with a 5100 lift kit already on it.

I have done my research and found that these shocks have different setting for lift height. I believe my truck is at 2.5 lift height with a small block in the rear.

I believe I want to take it down to the 1.75 lift height based on what I have read. I am adding pictures for you guys to confirm that my conclusions are correct.

What all goes in doing this? If I had a shop do it, what would I expect to pay? Can they simply remove the real block and set the shocks to 1.75 and that’s it? Will the truck still sit level? Thanks

 

It looks like your front shocks are on the highest setting. The shop would have to remove the front shocks and put them in a spring compressor to move the clip down. The block in the rear looks like a 1 inch block. I would guess a shop would charge you $200-$300 to do both. The truck looks good as it is. Go up to a larger tire and roll with it.

 

Thanks for the help! I think I will get a better ride out of the 1.75 and was wanting to stay with the 265 and preserve the mpg and power.

 

Dropping to the lower notches help the ride soften a bit. 2.5" on Billy 51s is kinda harsh for some folks.

 

i would be tempted to use these and adjust the perchs in place, use a ziptie to keep the spring up on the strut out of the way. lower the setting and then reverse the steps

It should be close. If the front is at 2.5 inches now, you would be going down 3/4 of an inch in the front and 1 inch in the rear.

 

Okay that helps. So would the shop only adjust the front shocks to 1.75, not the rest? Are the rear adjustable?

 

The height looks good as it is. Just bump the tire size to 265/75, which fits the stock height.

 

The rear shocks are not adjustable. They would just remove the blocks. Looks like you have aftermarket ubolts. There may not be enough threads to tighten them after the block is removed. You might need some OEM ubolts.

 

Okay awesome, seems simple enough. The ride is a little stiff. Curious how much difference there will be after the adjustment.
