    True story.........

Someone bet me $10 a week I couldn't stop drinking. I took it out to 2 years. Used the money to go to Cancun for the first time. This was in 1995 I think. I was so stoked because not only was I young and invincible but this would be the first real vacation anywhere let alone another country, and to a resort that was all-inclusive. At the time I couldn't even comprehend what that meant. All I knew was no matter what I could drink non stop as long as the bars were open. So I prepped. I started creating a binder of printed recipes of various drinks I wanted to try. I figured that way if they didn't know how to make them this would help.

So we arrive and the rooms are not ready. Six of us went on that trip, it was 3 couples. I had my fancy SLR in a camera bag fanny pack thing that had two lens pockets built in. Amazingly, a 12 oz. beer fit perfectly. So in essence it was the first ever covert koozie.

No problem, we can go to the bar and hang out until the rooms aredy.

Naturally since it was check-in check-out day, the bar was full of people coming and going. They were all drinking a drink called a slammer. Basically the bartender decided what alcohol to use, and would put it in a rocks glass, about 2 oz, and then fill the glass with club soda, slowly. Then he put a napkin over it, and you would lift and slam it on the bar, and before it all foamed out, drank it down.

I had had a lot of alcohols at the time but nothing exotic. For me, exoctic was Kahlua, or Rock-n-Rye. I was off the Jack because it made me a mad man. I was ok with tequila, and had just started drinking it.

After about 2 hours the entire bar was chanting Superman Superman!!! I think I was on #20.........needless to say, I do not remember the rest of the day and had to be told that two security guards found me passed out on the beach and drug me up to the room whre I fell on the bed. Nothing was missing, I wasn't probed, and was lucky to be alive I suppose. The next day I went down the front desk and apologized for my immature behavior and drunkenness. They said there was no fowl and even though was completely inebriated, was not offensive or rude. Then I sought out the two security guards and gave each of them $50. They tried to refuse but I insisted.

That was Sunday, the day after. On Tuesday night I had a beer. By Wednesday I was almost back to normal and was able to look at alcohol. Before we left the bartender and I were great friends. My limit was 10 slammers. LOL

Since then, we've been to Mexico 3 other times and the Dominican once. Each time to a All-Inclusive resort. My golden rule now, start early, around 10:00 am, eat a couple times during the day, and go slow until around 9:00 pm then go balls to the wall. Normally by 2 am I am done.

That depends on how good the discotheque, bartenders and servers are. :drunk:

A good margarita isn't fruity at all. I mean, yes, it can be, but it should mostly be citrus flavored.

Use a cocktail shaker with about 8 oz of ice, add 3 parts good quality tequila, 2 parts quality orange liqueur and 1 part fresh lime juice, a tablespoon or two of simple syrup if you like them a little sweet.

Shake all the ingredients until the outside of the shaker is frosty, salt the rim of your glass (I use pink sea salt) add some ice, or not, and pour.

    Enjoy! Repeat!

As long as your ass wasn’t hurting no harm no foul. In this case $300 is $300.
