If you are referring to the standard 25k Toyota care it’s actually 2 oil changes. The others are just tire rotations.

Minz will be a yr old in 2 wks. I did the first change last fall at 5000. Being retired from here on out it will be every 12 months regardless of mileage. Won't exceed 10000. Be lucky if I put on 6000 a year.

I'm not worried about the oil, I'd be more worried about the filter, and the maintenance light comes on every 5k miles. I know it's for rotating the tires, but might as well change the oil too.

I follow the BMW M series recommendations :) ... first change @ 1200 miles and then 5K there after. All the other fluids I changed @ 5K and plan on 30K there after ... fyi ... was really surprised how much debris was on the differential plugs.

In the greater scheme of things, oil is cheap and it is the contaminants that need to be removed regardless of possibility oil could break down.

to obtain maximum benefits of these services should be performed on Friday the 13th during a full moon. That’s quite a stretch comparing German engineering to Japanese.

OO, I don’t think you can go wrong with the 5k OCI. Many of us I’m sure qualify for the severe service OCI( frequent short trips, excessive idling, off-roadin, frequent start and stop). If you want to know the best possible OCI for your truck, order a min of 3 oil analysis tests. The oil will be examined and a trend will be formed, then the lab tech will make a recommendation for a OCI.

LOL I have a daily driver with 93,000 miles on it. I'm keeping the miles on the Tacoma as low as I can till the daily driver dies.
