Totaled my old Tacoma (other driver ran a light) and made a few changes to my suspension along the way...

I stayed with 6112/5160 but went with HD Dakars in the back. I run a BAMF bed rack, sos sliders and about 30-40% I have a Tepui on the back.

on the front I am at the top setting on my 6112s and I have a decent amount of rake, enough to where it would possibly look funny at a lower notch. Up front I have a BAMF skid and I’m about to add a BA hiline bumper/winch.

All of that leads me to the question. Do I change the coils to 650 lbs or is there something else I can do that would allow me to lower a notch or two? Or is all of the talk about the stress of preloading the shocks to the top notch a bit overkill. Part of me is concerned and the other part wonders why they make that setting if it shouldn’t be used.

    thoughts anyone?
